Ahahahah you're funny, I knew it !  :lol

Yes, so I had lunch and here I am. I was telling you something about me and my bikes, here they are:

my FZS600 that died last may :'( at the times she carried me around our beautiful Dolomiti:

This is me (ahahah, yes, exactly the yellow one) facing the Mugello's circuit near Florence during a stop of the 2012 session of FMI's GSSS course, the bike is the 3rd from left:

This is still me in front of the Elephant's rock, in my beloved Sardinya, the isle that bore me, with my brother's Honda Hornet 600

and, TaDa ! Last but not least, the following is my FZ1 :kiss (sorry, it was a little bit dirty in that picture :o 8) ), as she was when I bought her from a friend of mine (only 11000 kms), who used her only to go to the office and return back home. Look at the tyres... no words, mates !

I think you understand that my preferite hobby is motorcycling, but I would like to tell you that I like also to do some diy maintenance on my bikes.
Other interests are electronics (microcontrollers and also old tubes amplifiers), cycling (both on and off road), martial arts.
I also have two cats and a little dog (shortly some photos). Oh, yeah, the wife i told you before (I really don't know how she can endure me :rolleyes ) and two daughters.

Got bored ?  sorry, i promise i shut up for a bit ! :o

Thank you for your hospitality in da forum. ;)

(sorry for my bad English)

Wow, you're bikes look very clean! I thought mine were tidy but they look like rat bikes compared to yours! haha.

What happened to the blue foxeye, same as my bike  8)

That FZS1000 looks lovely! Love the black and red colour combo  8)

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Hi Chris, I loved that bike. I bought her in 2002 and she unfortunately threw  me high side last May, after a corner, when we were having a lot of fun as we were going down from the Cerreto pass to Fivizzano (in the Appennini mountain chain), near a little hamlet named (ok, feel free to laugh a lot...) "La Vagina"... Look at center of the map if you can't believe me. :lol
http://goo.gl/maps/z6k9N

She forgave me a lot of times, but maybe that time I have exaggerated a bit.
Fortunately, I dressed my biker suit, and I broke only two ribs but nothing else. Not a scratch more.
The motorcycle instead suffered the deformation of the rear frame and breaking the windshield and tail. The repair would cost me too much!

Because I loved her very much, I decided to return the plate to the Register and sell the parts that were in a good state. In that way she can live in other bikes (also I can earn money). The FG shock dampers were the first things I sold...

Nice to think that your bike lives on through its parts on other bikes too.  :)

P.S. there is a place on the island I live called twatt. haha

I think you meant "che è una bella moto" by translating "which is a nice looking bike". Don't you ? ;)

Hi Bender,

Welcome!

In May my friends and I are doing a European tour, and passing through Northern Italy.

Based purely on distance, we thought we would stop the first night in Italy near Lake Como, and the second somewhere near Bolzano.

So basically one night in the North West (we have to make it all the way from Switzerland via South of France that day) and another night in the East (so we can ride the Dolomites).

Are these good places to say the night, or could you suggest nice places?

And can you suggest any nice roads through the Dolomites which you would recommend?

Thanks, and again welcome,

Andy

Hi Bender,

Welcome!

In May my friends and I are doing a European tour, and passing through Northern Italy...

Hi Andy, and thank you for welcome.

What can I reply ? How can you ask the innkeeper if his wine is good ? :)
The places You mentioned before are all beautiful locus. The Como Lake has mentioned in the well known Alessandro Manzoni's (*) "Promessi Sposi" historical novel:

All around it you can find a lot of cheap Bed and Breakfast inns, take a look at this for reservation:
http://www.bed-and-breakfast-in-italy.com/bed_and_breakfast_lake_como.cfm
For a great Dolomities ride I suggest you to keep the Marmolada mountain range (not sure the term is right...) in the center of your interests;  there are unique views in that place and also lots of curves if you like to drive your bike in that way. So, IMHO, I'd go over there:
http://goo.gl/maps/2AKBi

For the accommodation the same as I said  before.
But, let me say that if you want to see the beauty of Italy you have to go a little further south, for example, coming from the south of France, you could go along the coast in Liguria, thru famous "Cinque Terre" and then back along the Apennines on the highway quickly via Parma, Modena, Verona, Trento and so on to the Dolomities. Everyone of the cities mentioned has a particularity: beauties, breathtaking views, Castles, history and everything you would like to find in Italy. However, I can understand that the path is already decided, especially if the major destinations are in the middle of the continent.

Let me know if you are going to come to Italy and precisely when, I'll be very happy if we can meet together with some FazerItalia's member. ;)

Have a nice ride whatever you decide to do. ;)

p.s. here some images of an our Dolomiti Tour:
DolomitiTour2006

(*) Alessandro Manzoni is a sort of italian William Shakespeare...

I'm afraid I don't quite understand. However, I would like to precise that I usually bend others, not myself... 8)

Over here in the uk a "bender" is another word for a homosexual. Obviously a vagina would be of no use to a "bender". Although from your avatar we know you are refering to the funniest character in futurama  :D

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Can a moderator please note that a bigger shovel is required here  :)

A 'bender' is slang ( another name ) for a homosexual, gay man, poof etc. So 'bender' and 'vagina' don't really go together  ;)
