Fazer Model Range
« on: 26 May 2012, 08:42:41 am »
With the introduction of the FZ8 & Fazer8 is it Yamahas intention to discontinue the 600 & 1Litre models in the foreseeable future?
I know sportsbike sales have taken a dive so are they trying for a VFR 800 type of market. Dont think theyve got it right yet though-theres something awful cheap about the suspension on an otherwise nicely finished bike. Pricing is still too high IMO
Seems like they discovered a winner with the early incarnations of Fazer 600 & 1000 in terms of go anywhere/do anything but when it came to model update time they thought they were trying for the sports market which they had already got sewn up with the R6 & R1. Am I missing something here? What would be a fair list price for the 8 series(Its only a start point for haggling isnt it?) :eek

I paid £6399 for a 2010 pre reg with no miles on clock. That seemed a reasonable price to me.

My local Yamaha dealer is offering FZ8 @ £6495 OTR & FZ8SA @£ 7495 OTR both on 0% APR over 36 months . Both these represent £1000 off Yamahas orig price + £600 dealer discount so looks like the prices are becoming more realistic.Sure they would be willing to negotiate further with cash buyers.  Didnt they overprice the original FZS 1000 @ launch 2001 resulting in big reduction 2002?
