Yeah, I know I was just testing the water really. I don't really know what it's worth, maybe around £1,800. I'm in Notts. I'll write my listing and take some pics and put it on here for a couple of days to see if it gets any interest before it goes on Autotrader and/or Ebay.

I'm selling my Fazer and thought I'd offer it on here before sticking it on Ebay or Autotrader. 2003 blue foxeye, just over 10k miles just fitted a full Motad exhaust, aftermarket Shock Factory M-shock, fresh coolant and oil, lovely condition, lots of spares including unused full Hel brake lines set (3 line front) blah blah blah. Will go into more detail and post some pics if anyone thinks they might be interested in buying it

Excellent idea Sharpy, Should we post our pics in the Naughty corner? :eek
The two threaded holes on the bottom yoke are for the front brake splitter but that uses flanged hex head  M5 bolts.

The hex bolt in the top pic is definitely not right. They never fit longer bolts than they need to. If that is the fairing hanger bracket I believe they are mushroom headed Allen bolts

Hi wezzy. How about taking it out for ride and seeing what falls off, and that's where they were supposed to be, and if nothing falls off they're obviously not that important. Hope this helps. :rolleyes

Hi All,
I dunno if I was having my chain pulled  :lol  but my exhaust is now sorted. The intention of my original post was to try to find out if anyone else had had the same problem fitting a Motad. I always thought they were better than that, I've fitted a few over the years and never had a problem before. I know the centre stand needs sorting, I'm having it powder coating in a couple of weeks.

Hi Sharpy, sorry, i didn't take any pics of the bodge and i've removed it now. it was just a cheapo bracket, bent double and secured through the hole in the bracket onto the hanger., nothing clever. Anyway i took it off cos the stand was hanging too low for my liking, so i removed the bump stop rubber and have fitted an old grommet in it's place temporarily. However I'm now taking it to a mate who owns a fabrication company who does stainless welding, hoping he can cut it off and relocate it. Hanging bracket was a pain to fit because it was difficult to get the bolt through both holes, it was only a five minute PITA.

FZS600 Fazer / Motad full system.
« on: 12 June 2023, 04:45:10 pm »
 Hi all,
I've finally got round to fitting my Motad system. I had to remove the original system to get to the front of the engine to clean a repaint it while I had the radiator off for a respray cos it had start flaking paint off too. It was overdue a coolant change anyway. So I decided to swap the exhaust while it was off. The headers went straight on with no problem but the link pipe centre stand stop bracket is in the wrong place and the rubber bung misses it entirely. I've had to make a diy bodge to make it work. The silencer fitted okay but the hanging bracket is a PITA to fit. Has anyone else had this problem fitting a Motad? Can post pics if anyone's interested.
                                                                                                                                     thanks

Could you have overtightened the chain? They like to run quite slack. If the bottom run on the chain doesn't touch the rubber guide when you push it up, it's too tight. This puts strain on the output shaft bearing and can cause it to whine. Don't ask me how I know. :rolleyes

Cool, so you can go on your ride :thumbup  Unfortunately it's not only YODEL, all the delivery companies seem to be doing the same don't they.
Covid 19 seem to be an excuse for shit service with a lot of businesses nowadays.

Thanks guys, Just sprayed with S Doc100 total gel cleaner and worked it in with a soft long bristle brush, rinsed it off then dried it with my blower, sprayed it lightly with GT85 and wiped off the excess.

Took my tank off for the first time in about 2 years to check the coolant level and it was disgustingly dirty under there, so i gave it a bit of a clean. Came up alright for an 18yr old bike with a reputation for an iffy finish

I had to buy a new battery for mine a couple of months ago and got a Yuasa YT12BS from Halfords for £63 with my 10% AA discount.
  The YTX14-BS is £79

I've been using one of these for years and they work really well.

Can anyone advise me how to get T-cut off of textured plastic? I was doing the tank and accidently caught the panel underneath and now I can't get it off 🙈 I've tried rewashing it, scubbing it, alcohol etc but nothing is shifting it 😔
WD40 or  GT85 might be worth a try, it certainly won't do it any harm.

« on: 28 May 2021, 01:59:42 pm »

Loads of people who were 'working' from home during lockdown have bought dogs to give them something to do walking them. A lot of these same people are now being asked to return to work.

Apparently, having seen the cost of professional dog walkers they're either handing them in to dog rescue centres as fast as they can, or are demanding that they be allowed to take them into work with them :rolleyes .

You couldn't make it up.

Look out for the new car window stickers 'A dog is for life not just for lockdown' It's incredible how short sighted some people are.

Regardless of what it means, I hate the word and so does pretty much everyone I speak to about it.

I'm sure there'll be people on here screaming snake oil but I always use Profi Fuelmax after a long lay up.
