I have just bought a pair of Kawasaki z750 twins, both are B1 models, one is probably past it but the other is fixable, but one thing that is very unusual and I doubt I will ever see it again, both these bikes came from the same bloke, one was bought 12 years after he bought his first one, now here where things get freaky, the reg no's are very similar, the bikes were registered 10 days apart, the vin no is 12 apart and the engine no is 5 apart, both bikes were registered in the same county. the odds of anyone getting a pair of bikes with such similarities is astronomical, getting 2 bikes that are 37 years old is another story.

Not the first bike I would think of if looking for a classic air cooled project. Curious - what's the appeal for you on these particular bikes?

I am interested in acquiring one for a project. I have an idea for something unusual and it would be the ideal starting point

They would have to be very very cheap, they were shit bikes when they were new.....All these years on they must be horrendous BUT probably worth a small fortune restored and punted out to the bearded bolt counters

not very good pics as taken at night with my mobile, the front end is not on the bike, the engine turns over and has compression. most of the parts are there and most parts need some tlc, the other engine ia probably seized looking at the state of the exhaust ports, and the kickstart is seized in its folded in state so I can try it to see if the engine turns over or not.

Best of luck, you have a lot of work ahead of you. :)
Will you keep us up to date with a few pics along the way.
Last time I saw one in the flesh was in Florida 18 months ago

It does look better in the flesh, the phone flash make it look as if the barrels have corroded.
-
have a look at 'the bike shed motorcycle club/shop' for some inspiration. twins are very popular with the whole retro/custom scene.

Got one of those in boxes in the eighties. Finally got it working but would never start with electric start. Great fun doing it up in the back room along with our kids Suzuki GSX 750.At the time we both lived together in the house I bought. It was great to see peoples faces when we ran them up in the house as it was straight through to the back room from the front door. Next door was a scooter lad as well Great times couldn't do it now. elf n safety ooooo
