Fitted my some Oxford L.E.D turn signals today. After much pissing about with resistors and stupid Yamaha connections I finally got them working but then to my dismay realised they don't fit without some kind of spacer/blanking plate?
I've used the stock bases for now but looks awful. The back will need something similar too,
Does anyone know what I'm looking for?
Yep. You need these. I bought these for my 2008 Gen 2 a couple of years ago. Got mine from M&P's though, not this American site and they were cheaper. Maybe contact Oxford direct and find out where your local dealer is.  https://www.motosport.com/oxford-indicator-spacers?mmy=yamaha%3Bfzs1000%3B2008&mmy_source=pdp

Spot on, thanks Grayo.
I knew there must be some kind of nicer looking solution to it haha I was ready to use washers is nothing else bit these are perfect 👍

I'm using rizoma bars as well with shorter venhill lines.

Just out of interest did you measure and order the correct length or did you buy some for another bike ie R1, R6 etc etc?

Every time I’ve been out there I’ve pulled over convinced a tyre has gone down only to find they’re all fine and it was just the concrete surface. I guess once you’re used to it you then discount failed tyre noises and get caught out.
Fortunately UK roads are usually quieter than that, though the M25 has some American style surfaces.

I agree I have done the same, one time in Florida I stopped to check my tyre & the cops pulled alongside and asked what was wrong when I explained he advised that the area I had stopped was not a safe place for "whites" to stop!

send the packaging back to them, let them get rid of it!! (what is the return postage address? freepost?)

after Christmas Mrs Robbie took the plastic packaging we had accumulated back to the shops we had bought the stuff from (mainly Sainsbury's & Tesco). they accepted it and now they have to sort it out.
ps it was washed & cleaned out so they couldn't complain about it!

What a great idea 👍😂 it's even more annoying given that out local council has recently switched to fortnightly collections so not only are we paying extra for all this shitty packaging it's now also filling our house/garden up 😡

And I know it's all packaged to be pretty but maybe instead of moaning at us lot the government would be better to force these companies to sell their products in basic plainer packaging (like cigarettes) then as consumers we would buy a product based on its merit rather than how shiney its box is 🤔

Besides I (like many people) buy most of my stuff online from a website with professional photos etc so the fanciness of the packaging is already rendered moot.

Companies and they're unnecessary crap plastic packaging! I finally got round to buying my new indicators yesterday. They are very nice and only about 9cm long yet Oxford in all their wisdom decided the best way to sell them is to vac pac them between 2 (more of less a4 sized) sheets of plastic!? What would have been the problem with a small cardboard box with them both side by side?

This is why it pisses me off with all this plastic in the ocean bollocks and all the shit we get for using too much plastic, it's not us it's the fucking greedy corporations who are far more interested in making their products look pretty and saleable on the cheap than helping look after the planet.
All this crap they give us about plastic bags.... why can't they go back to paper ones? (Cost too much profit money) same with plastic bottles why can't we go back to having glass ones? ( too much profit money). Too much emphasis on profit and sales then they have the cheek to tax us all to try and rectify it

Also with my purchase I read the returns terms from the company I bought them that state's that if I'm not happy with them they can only be returned if the packing is in damaged, so your bolloxed from the word go as theres no way to get into the bludy things without damaging the packaging 😥😥

I have a Shoei Neotec flip lid, it is slightly louder than my previous Shoei non-flip lid but still pretty quiet.

In the past I have used AGV which were ok.
A Caberg flip lid which was the noisiest helmet I've ever had - after one 400 mile trip I wanted to chuck it away but the bike shop in Penzance didn't have anything better so I had to ride home wearing the flipping thing, wish I'd had earplugs on that day. It was replaced with Shoei full face lid and what a difference!
I bought a cheap helmet at a bike show (can't remember the make), the wind noise was bad enough but there was also a high pitched whistling noise which drove me nuts. I took a sledge hammer to it. It took several attempts to do any serious damage to it.

I'm guessing your on about the Caberg Duke? I have the same one..... noisey as shit but 5 star sharp rated so hard to destroy 😂
My Shark Speed R is marginally quieter

I can wear then easily enough( in fact I wear them at night when the missus has a chest infection, so I don't have to listen to her haha ) the problem I have is remembering to put them on before I go out. I did manage it for a few weeks but that was a while ago. I keep telling myself I should as I'm still relatively young so I still have chance to save my hearing 🤔🤔

Odd. Advertised as a 2009 bike. My understanding was that all S2 models came with ABS. This bike appears to have a non S2 front wheel and I cant spot the ABS sensors or rings. Also appears to have been fitted with blue spots, or someones coloured them in. There are questions to ask the dealer before buying this one. Tad overpriced too, but negotiable. Also check out the red staining on the front left disc

All new S2 models from 2008 should have had abs but I suppose it could have been old stock or even a pre reg? And I think the red on the disc is just a reflection

I think I need a special LG one as I have found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-TV-COMPONENT-ADAPTOR-CABLE-LEAD-FOR-BREAK-OUT-CABLE-LG-LM7600-TV-/142095710525 and the tv is listed and the bottom section is a lot longer than the standard ones I have been trying

That's the exact one I posted a picture of earlier but mine came with my Samsung tv. I'm sure they are just generic but eBay sellers just list then for specific tv's

I know it's the easy way out but you could just buy one of these?

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273000147427

Plugs into the ps2 then you can just use a standard HDMI cable

Might sound silly bit have you definitely plugged them into the right colours in the 3 to 1 lead? I've mixed up white and yellow a fair few times in the past 😅 I have the exactly same set up for my kids nintendo wii and it works fine?
If not I'm sure darrsi will be along soon to solve the issue for you haha

For Sale & Wanted / Re: What Fazer / commuter to buy
« on: 05 January 2018, 03:41:21 pm »
I'd personally go for the fz6 s2 out of the two. Cheaper to insure, cheaper to tax and more than likely cheaper to run but I'm not sure how the 8 is on fuel. The fz8 is the prettier bike imo but it's pretty much just a watered down fz1 from most accounts

For Sale & Wanted / Re: What Fazer / commuter to buy
« on: 05 January 2018, 12:52:10 pm »
Hi and welcome. If commuting is your main focus then I'd be more inclined to stick to a 600 just purely for the MPGs. The fuel consumption was the first thing I noticed when I made the jump to a thou. Most 600s driven right will get easily into the 200miles per tank range and there's still plenty enough power in them to 'play' on the weekend.

How new of a bike are you looking at? And what sort of budget? That info might help us give you some more suggestions 😊👍

I've got rizoma bars on mine wig the matching riser. They are about 2 inches lower than the originals so my brake lines have quite a bit of slack in them and just adjusted the clutch cable accordingly. I could do with replacing the brake lines for shorter ones but generally just can't be bothered haha

I have a complete seat, it's not perfect but might be better than yours. You could buy mine and send yours off for recovering? Don't want a lot for it but postage might be a bit. Let me know if your interested.

If you use collectplus then it's just based on weight and as long as it's under 10kg then it's no more than £10. Just have to print a label and drop it at a local shop 👍

That looks really cool 👍 if I had one bit of advice it would be to remove the Xmas child from the side, should save you a good few MPG on wind resistance alone 😉

« on: 02 January 2018, 10:29:50 am »
Did mine, had no problems with coating rubbing off in the 12 month before I changed to Gilies.

That's awesome, it's exactly what I'm going for but on a gen 2. I hate the fact that the engine is black, frame is black, swingarm is black then those big ugly silver rearsets are sat there like a sore thumb haha i know certain models had black ones from the factory bit they are like the proverbial rocking horse excrement to try and find

I'm slowly getting my bike to exactly how I want it but them damn silver coloured rearsets do me in but it's only an aesthetic thing so I'm not gonna shell out hundreds for aftermarket ones.  Anyway I've bought some of the carbon fibre inserts for the heel plates and now I'm looking at powdercoating the rest of it in satin black. Has anyone else done this? I'm trying to work out if it will wear off rapidly in the areas that my boots make contact?

Just wondered upon this on getgeared. Not any Fazer ones left from what I can see but still might be useful to some of your other bikes 👍
