Anyone know the size, pitch etc of gen 2 front and rear brake disc bolts? I need to reaplce them all with stainless and dont see the need to pay stupid money for 'motorbike' ones when any high tensile stainless bolt will do the same job.

I'm slowly getting my bike to exactly how I want it but them damn silver coloured rearsets do me in but it's only an aesthetic thing so I'm not gonna shell out hundreds for aftermarket ones.  Anyway I've bought some of the carbon fibre inserts for the heel plates and now I'm looking at powdercoating the rest of it in satin black. Has anyone else done this? I'm trying to work out if it will wear off rapidly in the areas that my boots make contact?

Is anyone else having issues? Seems to be on the go slow and occasionally getting '508 resource limit reached' error screen?

I'm after a new set of front discs for my Fz1. Just wondering if there's anything worth looking at besides EBC or Armstrong? No Chinese shite.
Are there any British made companies producing them still?
There are some Viper ones knocking about but I can't find any info on them other than the fact they were sold by demontweeks (which usually means they're cheap crap)
Don't mind getting the ebc ones but I do sometimes feel I'm just paying for the brand name with that company

Any of you clever Foccers know what the rubber strips across the road are actually for? The ones that are ties to the road then feed into a little box that's usually chained to a lamppost
I asked the council worker who was installing them and his answer was 'traffic monitoring' apparently to count the amount of cars then travel on a certain route but my argument for that is why do they have them set up every 100 or so yards and why is there 2 strips side by side? That to me says speed detection? Other wise they would only need 1 strip?

I've just had the missus moaning at me for a McDonald's so i jumped in the car to pick one up and on my travels I come to a T junction. Turning right out of the junction comes a beautiful custom Honda Fireblade, i thought to myself how nice it looked then went about my business. Anyway the trip was only a mile or so each way so within 10 mins I was back at the T-junction turning the same way the bike went previously. In the distance I see flashing blue lights. As I approach a police officer ushers me onto the wrong side of the road. I look towards the path to the left and to my dismay see the Honda in pieces followed by a BMW with a big dent and the rider laying in the road   The ambulance was coming down the road just as I got past.
Has given me a very unsettled feeling seeing it go from all good to all bad so quickly. I know we all understand the risks of riding but just strange when it comes into reality.  I really hope the riders ok and will certainly be on my mind the next time I'm out riding

Are there any aftermarket ones out there? I've found the £900 akraprovic titanium ones and i can dream but with a more realistic view I'm just after some more stainless ones. The standard ones are starting to pit and corrode up near the engine so rather than replace with originals I'm just trying to find an aftermarket solution. Anyone know of anything?

Is there anyway to tell which weight oil I have in the front forks while I'm changing it?
I know the bike has had MCT treatment and is uprated from standard but not a clue what they have put in it?
I don't want to replace it with a lower weight oil then have to strip them again to re-do it?
Any ideas?

So I did an oil change about 3 weeks ago,  checked online and I think it was meant to take something like 2.8 litres with a filter change, anyway I only put about 2.4 in there and it was already showing half way up the viewing glass. So took her out for a 10 minute ride, come back and waited for it to settle then checked again.... half way up the glass. Next morning same and the next evening after riding to work was all good so didn't put anymore thought into it.

Anyway today I've just been out for a ride for an hour or 2 and the bike felt really vibey, but in a resonating kind of way. Was making my steering damper rattle like mad and I could really feel it through the bars.
So I've given her a once over and everything seems fine but I've just noticed that my oil is not only black already but also fills the looking Glass when the bike is upright!?
Can't see it when it's on the side stand but the moment it's level the window goes completely black?
I've checked the coolant and none of that has gone anywhere, and when I return the bike to the side stand the window is yellow from oil residue so doesn't look like there's anything else in there? 
Normally I would have though condensation but as I said I'd literally just rode it for an hour or 2 so it was well warmed up?
So does anybody have any ideas?
I'm planning on leaving it till tomoz just to make sure but do I need to let some oil out? And if so where the hell did the extra come from?

After a nice looking little fly screen just to deflect the wind a bit while misbehaving. Preferably a black one but willing to consider anything anyone might have laying about

Are they any better? I want to replace a couple of my standard ones as they are getting a bit tatty, so looking at buying a kit and swapping them all out if it's worth doing?
Is it a huge job or just an afternoon of tinkering?

I know  I know this is a fazer forum but you all seem to be knowledgeable foccers.
My brother has just bought himself a 1981 Kawasaki kmx 125 crosser to play around in the local quarries.
We are in the middle of stripping it down and doing it up cosmetically but given our combined ages come to less than 55 we have very little knowledge of the old 2 stroke engines haha.
We know about mixing the oil and fuel but what about the gearbox oil? Can we just use my spare silkolene super 10w40? Or does it have to be specific gearbox oil?
I figure it works in my gearbox so should work it that?
