I must point out that I am absolutely mince with electrics....completely incompetent  :rolleyes

Replacing one of the rear indicators on the FZ1 as water had got in and rotted the inside.
Ordered a new indicator but the wires were too short. Annoyingly had to cut back the old cable, remove the connector from the new indicator and wire them up using electrical connectors.

Question I have is all the wires are the same colour so will it make a difference which way I connect them?
I tried both ways and indicator works whatever way I connect but will one way create any kind of issues.....bad earth, battery drain etc......

May seem like an odd question but when I connected back up to the Optimate the charger has been running on full juice for ages making me think there is a problem.

I can beat that......my missus is away for a holiday in Costa Rica for 3 weeks over Easter leaving me with the kids.
If they can get free of the gaffa tape and get out of their rooms I may have to find something to do to entertain them.

They are getting nowhere near my garage or bikes though......not after my youngest tried to wash my bike with a brillo pad  :rolleyes

I have plugged tyres before but have never had the confidence in the tyre again.
For the sake of the cost of a new tyre vs your face down the road....I always spend the money....if you have it of course.  ;)

I have heard first hand that Triumph are really bad for this and I have dealt with Honda UK on a number of occasions (on behalf of others) where Honda has invalidated a warranty due to the work being done elsewhere.

Legally, as with cars under European law, you are entitled to take your bike anywhere as long as the work is done to the manufacturers specification with genuine parts. Unfortunately some individual dealerships will not honour this and in most cases the actual manufacturer will back up their dealer.
Pretty shoddy to be honest and ultimately you would have to take legal action, which obviously most people do not do.

My advice is always to try and find a sympathetic dealer, even if you have to travel a bit. You "local" dealer may not honour the warranty but you may find someone else will on the basis of good customer service. Phone around some of the dealers to see what responses you get and deal with the ones who are "nice".

Some years ago I was looking at either a VFR, CBF1000 or a CB1300. Did a couple of hundred miles on each one and hated the VFR with a passion. I found it a bit gutless to be honest. Maybe it was due to the fact I had just sold my Fazer 1000 and XJR so was used to a bit extra oomph but even my FZS600 winter bike felt more powerful  ;).
It did not float my boat at all. It handled "ok" but that was about it. Also thought the CBF was very over-rated.
I ended up with a CB1300S which a had for a few years.

I know loads of people rave about VFR's but personally I would try before you buy........

When the clocks are displaying the mileage (ODO) holding the Select button changes from MPH to KPM and vice versa. Clicking the Reset button toggles between the Air Intake to Coolant Temp.

Not aware that the actual Temp measure can be changed from oF to oC.

Comments from various US Yamaha forums suggest this is "hard coded" into the clocks. This probably means that you have a set of imported clocks and are stuck with the Fahrenheit reading  :\

Most of my tools are the Halfords Professional range and they are really good quality. I have a few of their ratchets and all have lasted over 10 years now.
My spanner set is now 18 years old and still going strong  ;)

£19.99 and a BOGOF Been using these in the car for years and will be getting some for the bike...not a fan of Halfrauds and wouldn't be surprised to hear they get them made by someone else for next to nothing...but they have done the job admirably

+1

Used Halfrauds bulbs for years and they are great.
