Stainless EXUP Cover Bolts
« on: 25 November 2011, 09:58:43 pm »
Anyone know where to get these? I've got some with a 10mm head and no shoulders (no dandruff jokes please) which are impossible to get on and off with a socket but which will do in the meantime.
I've read on these forums folks recommending an EXUP service at least twice a year and have always though that was excessive but having just looked at mine after 10 months I can deffinately say it was overdue a service, so I'll be doing mine twice a year from now on.

I was selling a couple of sets of these at the BMF shows this year.
Basicly i replaced mine and got about 10 sets made up at same time. think in was knocking them out at £3 a set.
Think i have a set or maybe 2 left over. if i can remember where the hell i put them affter the last show i'll let ya know.
if i can find them its no charge i'll just get your address and send off a pack. but at the NEC show this weekend so wont get a chance to look for them till monday or tuesday

i measured mine and i found 10mm was the max depth, the original bolts are 10mm in length

Correct - I used a couple of washers to make up the extra 2mm, seems to work fine.

every time  I need new nuts, bolts or washers I replace them with stainless items that I get from a local shop that does engineering supplies.
If you look in your local yellow pages you might find a similiar place. Their prices seem to be very cheap and when I`ve not been totally sure which thread or tpi I need I have just took the bolt/nut that I`m replacing with me and they have matched it.
