compression adjusters
« on: 18 September 2011, 07:25:42 pm »
in case anyone didn't catch it... copied from previous forum site:

"does anyone know where i might lay my hands on a pair of working compression adjusters for an 04 FZS 1000's standard forks? they were the one thing i failed to check when i bought it and they're chewed/not working (the left hand one keeps spinning and the right hand is seized).
Unless anyone here who's done an R1 conversion has a pair kicking about...?

cheers!

Mine are both seized. Did you buy two then or did you get the one working?

Which breakers did you use?

for anyone who's interested; here is the response i got from Yamaha in response to my request that they start to stock front fork compression adjusters as a separate item:

"Thank you for your email, regarding the Front Forks on your 2004 model Yamaha FZS1000, the details of which have been noted for our files.

We have in this instance referred your enquiry to our Parts and Accessories Department, who has advised, that due to its design, the Compression Damping Adjusting Screw, is not available separately.

We thank you for taking the time to contact as and hope the above may clarity your enquiry.

"due to it's design"?? i may be alone in feeling this a bit rubbish but if anyone else here feels the same then they should drop them a line... the more people write and hassle them the more likely they'll look in to it a little more?
