Nice post and good luck with your sale fella.
Thank you I want to be totally honest (on here at least ). It's a really nice bike, only selling because I've inherited my brother's Ducati and can't really keep both (you've seen my annual mileage!) Cheers

Trying this on here first before it goes on fleabay for £1500 in the hope a Foccer will buy it and give her the care she deserves. I bought her on 16/03/2012. She was in lovely nick then and had obviously been well loved. She's now showing her age (usual suspects, engine fins, radiator) and has a couple of scratches on the tank (which is a replacement after I dropped the original while balancing the carbs, documented in the forums somewhere!) She's all original other than stainless downpipes (I forget the make but they were the best recommended ones with link pipes), and a K&N washable air filter. MOT until 25/04/2022. I don't think she's ever had an MOT advisory. Current mileage is 22,076. Last few MOT mileages were 21,778; 21,459; 21,062 Service history is a bit thin on the ground as I've done it myself. New fork oil last year, centre stand stripped, Hammerited and greased, calpiers overhauled (that was probably a while ago actually). Tyres have virtually no wear, brake pads almost new (although I'm not that happy with them, may be worth swapping). Front sprocket nut replaced with the uprated item by CMC at Clay Cross (for free!! Yay!) Please see the pictures and ask anything you want to! She's located in Winster, near Matlock Bath. Oh yes, and she has a full tank of fuel which is unlikely to change before sale Cheers

I'm going to be putting my decent foxeye 600 on here soon. Other than here it will be eBay, other free sites attract just the sort of individual you describe, very frustrating.

Could be useful though especially if it was another Fazer as you will get 5 or so riders Fazer experience test riding and picking up any potential problems.
Thing is, it's my brother's Ducati Monster 696. He died a couple of years ago. It's his, and pretty immaculate, so with all respect to all fellow Foccers I hope it's understandable I don't want anybody else riding it. Also although it's getting a good service and MOT before it's moved (there's a good independent Ducati outfit down there), it's a Ducati and hasn't done any distance in about 3 years, so I wouldn't even want to test it on a 190 mile journey myself! Cheers

Have used ‘the bike bus’ who are very good. Though cheap I wouldn’t use Shipley, they move anything and everything and will just cram things in, prob not above stacking things on a bike!
Thanks Mate

[ Sorry for the Andy Clap
No problem So, there may be a Foccer in Romsey who can take the bike to Oxford, where another can take it to Birmingham, where another can take it to Burton on Trent, where another can bring it to Matlock. Not sure how it works with getting folks home though, or expenses.

Yeah, thanks. I'm really looking for a Foccer recommendation, somebody that's actually used them. This particular bike is very precious to me, hence not wanting any old company to do it.

Cheers Hampshire (near Romsey) to Derbyshire (near Matlock) Yeah, rideable, but wouldn't really want anybody I don't know riding it.

Watcha Folks Long time since I've been on the forum. Any recommendations for bike transport companies please? Just those which people have used please. Cheers

I've often fancied a litre bike, but then thought what's the point? I ride my FZS600 like it's an Enfield 500, and it's more than quick enough when I want it to go zooom

Brill, many thanks.
I've got it on front and rear paddock stands. Good access, but was worried about pulling it over! (needn't have been)
Wire wheel, Hammerite, grease, refit.

Watcha
Any hints to make life easier getting centre stand springs off and on again?
Cheers.

How many months we talking ? If it's only a few, I think having the plugs out and putting oil in the barrels is a bit OTT.
April or May I should think. So 7 or 8 months.

Cheers Buddy
Wasn't sure it was necessary with modern Jap engines, but I'll do as you suggest.

Hi Folks
Not been around for a while, hope you're all good.
I've also not run the Fazer for months (probably sell it in the NY, TBH). Do you think I need to shove a little oil in the cylinders before turning it over by hand, or just start the thing?
Ta, Andy

Anybody know what colour Derbyshire speed camera vans are? Think I saw one on a bridge overlooking the A6 duel carriageway north of Buxton. Are they clearly marked? Can they get you off bridges? Questions questions!!

BT21's, just like it left the factory on. Over 15 years and two Fazers I've seen the need to use anything else.

If memory serves me the copper gasket washers are compresssion type and squash down and would be flatter and bigger when they come out. When you put the new ones in smear a bit of grease over the face to the engine it helps them to stay in place when you fit the downpipes and torque the nuts up to correct tightness
Brill, many thanks

So, the copper gasket rings I've been supplied are round in section, whereas the ones which have come out are flat. Also the new ones are about 2mm smaller in diameter.
Anybody fitted the same, and does it matter?
Cheers.

Still nothing from Motad. Not answering emails or returning calls. Did not expect this from them. I'm just going to stick them on the bike, it's 15 years old and not immaculate, and just tell everybody who ass not to buy Motad

When my bike was 10 years old, CMC at Clay Cross changed the nut free of charge. Worth asking a Yam dealer the question.

Possibly, although they look more unfinished. Having absolutely no luck getting an email reply or to speak to anybody
