Brushed down and re painted my down pipes, mainly the collector box area but while me brush was wet - as you do.
I actually did it a couple of days ago and the first picture was tonight they look wet but they are not, the second pic is after I got back from a 40 mile spin. The paint needs the heat to fully cure to a mat finnish, its granvile engine black, if you are interested

They look good Mr, what was the actual paint you used?

its granvile cylinder black,  I did say engine but got it wrong here http://www.granvilleoil.com/product_info.php?prod_id=252

Also to add - it comes in small tins but is quite thin and gos a long way, even though its thin it covers well, you could amost paint glass with it, and its hard to see the brush strokes after, I recon you could do your exhaust 3 or 4 times over from 1 small tin

Looks good, think I'll be searching this out and giving them a wee coat or two, but as you say, maybe get even more done, certainly it'll tidy up the downpipes

Fixed the replacement alarm I got ages ago (turned out it was just a loose wire on the speaker) and fitted it to the bike, so if any scrotes try to unbolt the tank again they'll have the alarm screaming at them :)

Why does it look like you have bolts in your downpipes?

Because there are! Something to do with gas flow measuring?

I've only even had Fazers with stainless pipes, first time I noticed it. Is that on all stock downpipes then?

Mines an 02 and has them guess so.

Fitted my cheapo Chinese handguards last night, and tested them out this morning in chilly conditions with summer gloves.

Worked brilliantly I'm keeping the wind off, and stopping the wind chill on my digits. It's an autumn/spring must if you commute!
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Tidying the garage I found the bag of broken headlights that came with my bike.  As I sifted the remains for bulbs and useful clips etc I noticed amongst the jigsaw pieces was enough to put the two fairing infills together!  Two hours, a solder iron and some number filler and they are ready to use!!
Intentionally left blank

Got mine working fine now....well almost ,offside indicator not working now. I suppose that will teach me to check everything before I refit the tank. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow.

There's not a lot of clearance with the shorty levers, so methinks original levers would need some spacers making.

Hmmm I also see that you have the foxeye whereas I am box. It always pricks my ears up when I hear handguards and fazer 600 as they just dont fit without hitting the fairing or somthing else, so when someone says they have fittet some im interested

Another bit of proof then that they dont fit on the 600, your pictures do not show any obvious thou features it looks like a 600 foxeye although im not that familiar with the look of the 600 foxeye

The clocks are usual the easiest identifier between the 600 and thou in those sorts of shots :)

Well thats just it, they look the same other than not having a gold face on the rev and fuel side, I though that was just a foxeye thing

The gold face is only a difference between early and late model 600's (as far as I am aware). My first Boxeye ('99) had a gold face but my second Boxeye ('01) has a black face. The actual clocks themselves are different between the 600 and thou though including the faces, dials and needles :) May be harder to spot if you aren't used to the thou clocks though I guess...
