rear brake hose banjo position

fitted a braided hose as my last hose had a small split from my last "incident"


however i forgot which way the caliper side banjo goes in relation to the nipple ...

its currently got the nipple behind the banjo so you cant see the nipple looking at it from this side

I removed the standard banjo on mine over the weekend. It has a 90degree bend in the banjo itself, so it first points directly to the tyre then curves to point towards the front of the bike/brake pedal.

I'm not sure if I've answered or understood your question and can't see in your photo as I'm viewing it on my phone.

Hiya,
The 90 degree Banjo Union should be horizontal facing towards the rear wheel, the pipe should then automatically be facing towards the front of the bike.
With the banjo tightened up in the position you have it it has effectively shortened the pipe and could put strain on the pipe as it appears stretched tight as it nears the brake master cylinder.
Turning the banjo around will effectively make the pipe a couple of inches longer, as you have it excessive suspension travel could fracture or rip the pipe apart the pipe.
I'm  anewbe in her but have tried to include a photo of my bike with the brake line as it should be.

Tommy - will you stop posting the pic of your mint bike...it puts us all to shame and makes me jealous (got a silver boxeye but want a fox). If you passed your test in 1966 then you should know better at your age than to rub our noses in it  .

I have put the hours in working on the bike, but when your an old bastard like me you have the time. LOL!
Although the bike was not in bad condition when I bought it, but, it had been used as a commuter so had been used in all weathers and generally looked a (little) bit tired and grubby and in need of an update or two
First picture taken head on a few months back, yeah you must remember that was when the sun shone that day.


I will post a picture of it when I purchased it.


My son knows how much I love this bike, so he told me when I shuffle off this mortal coil he is going to have it sprayed pink, I think that says more about him than it does me lol!

Tommy  ....somehow seeing your bike from the front doesn't help ya soppy old goat. Oh yeah, seeing shiny pipes, rad cover, led indicators and even colour coded mirror stems (no shite in site) makes me feel sooooooo much better . It wasn't even a shitter when you bought it - careful now, you're not far from me and I own a rattle can full of pink

I'm fairly new here also but is it not tight because the bike has had a blue spot caliper fitted at some time which has the bango bolt in a different position and needs a longer pipe?
