FZS600 Fazer / Bagster Fitting Instructions
« on: 24 October 2015, 11:29:58 pm »
Got a 2nd hand Bagster tankcover today. Thought fitting would be self explanatory but....

Might be some straps missing. I'm not sure.

Anyone got fitting instructions 2000 model.

Went to the Bagster website and although there is a link for fittings I cant get the link to show anything.

Thanks in advance.

FZS600 Fazer / Just got a FaZer 600 - Which Year
« on: 22 September 2015, 08:25:03 pm »
I just bought a Fazer 600 at the weekend for £100. W reg but says on V5 year of manufacture 2000. Any Fazer experts out there can confirm year. Its an import and has been sitting outside for a year or two after it threw a chain. Ordered a few bits to get it going again. Rear sprocket (came with carrier) Clutch push rod which had been snapped by the chain coming off. This was the main reason it was left sitting as the clutch did not work. £17 for that so cheap fix. Just need to get the old one out!!!

I took off the sprocket cover with the cutch actuator and it was well corroded inside and I could not undo the screws. New one ordered. Less than £20.

It will need a clutch lever as it snapped, a rear tyre, a chain (already have one) and I'll replace the oil, the filters (air and oil) and plugs as a matter of course. Ill probably replace the brake pads and also the standard rubber brake hoses with stainless steel braided. Brake fluid and coolant.

Only thing I am struggling with so far is the headlights. Its an import so I was hoping to pick up a set of UK spec ones but so far no luck on ebay (just started looking TBH) Previous owner had stuck on some sort of deflector. Might be a cheap fix in the short term if I can not come up with anything else. Not going to spend huge sums of money on it as its a second bike. First love is my XJR1300

Biggest worry is the state of the downpipes and more worryingly the studs are VERY corroded. Might just leave well alone!!!

Anything else I should be looking out for??

Introduction / Newbie with Project Fazer
« on: 20 September 2015, 10:09:45 am »
Hi, I'm Ferg. Just bought a Fazer that has been sitting outside for a couple of years after it threw a change. Got it through a local bike shop for next to nothing. Its an import as the speedo has a MPH sticker on it and the lights dip to the wrong side. First registered May 2002 but I suspect its a 2000 model. Maybe and expert on here can tell from the photos.

Confession time. My first love is actually my 1999 XJR1300 and this will be my second bike. Sorry if that offends any Fazer lovers!!

Needs a fair bit of work but ill get it running first, MOTd and taxed and then see what I want to do with it.

The chain and rear sprocket are missing along with one chain adjuster. Might be spacers from rear wheel also but need to look into that a bit more first.

Previous owner said that the clutch wont engage since the chain came off. Hopefully its just a bent push rod or something simple.

I will probably be bugging you all for more info once I start work on it. Power washed it this morning!! Photos are pre-powerwash.
