For Sale & Wanted / Re: my sorted 2004 gen one for sale
« on: 06 July 2021, 09:51:40 pm »
well, im delivering it to its new owner tomorrow. Its fully serviced, cleaned etc etc for the last time by my hands. And its the end of an era for me; i've had that bike six years, and loved it to bits. Realistically, i'll never own anything like it again, now im old and reasonably focced :'( . What a helluva bike they are. Its been a privilege. Thank you Mr Yamaha for building such a thing. Also for me XJR. It aint no Fazer thou, but its a good 'un, and takes the sting out of losing such a competent all rounder and sit up sports bike :) well, a little bit at least... :'( :'(

hey mate sorry to hear about the accident, hope you heal quickly. Stock bars and im based in cambridgeshire, pe28. the givi multi rack would put another £100 notes on t, the top box and keyless panniers £150. if its at all possible id recommemd  you view it first bud, if your not too far away ill ride it over to you sometime after next week given your laid up with the injury

I havnt used my Fazer aside from a run down to Wales to see Dave (Dynspud) all year. Its partly my age i think. Im 62 now, and prefer the lazy ride of my evo 1340 fatboy, or grunting about on my xjr1300, which has become my everyday ride. So the fazer is up for grabs. Long term members will know how much ive cherished this bike in the three or four years ive owned it. its probably the best handling bike ive ever owned, courtesy of MCT suspension (refreshed by Darren last year) front and back (including K tech spring on rear shock.) its 2004, the best colours, and has covered i think 46k. Its Ivanised, and I fitted new Bridgestones just before laying it up at the end of last years summer. Exup valve is serviced and cleaned, with stainless bolts replacing the crap oe ones. comes with standard  and four degree advancer plate. MOT has about five months to go. Brake pads are nearly new, and either SBS or goldline EBC. it has a MRA screen thingy. it runs perfectly.  Comes with the Ti race can and original mint stocker. Two keys, and two fobs for the datatool alarm. oxford sports intelligent heated grips. it has faults, small, but faults nonetheless. the fairing inners have the usual mild cracks, but are solid. The ignition key has to be wiggled about a bit, but it always turns. Thats it i think.
Im not gonna fanny about with offers, instead just putting it up for a good price. As it is in the photo, but without the givi rack and with the original side handles re fitted, and without the topbox and handguards, £2000. Im servicing it this weekend or early next week (new plugs, filters and oil, carbs balanced) along with taking the bits off, so it'll be ready to go from the following weekend. Can deliver for an agreed price, and the rack etc will be up for sale seperately too. all the best paul

talking of Tom, i fitted a side plate conversion to his new rocket three then took it arooond the airfield for a hoon. Is it cool? dunno. but its ridiculously foccing fast and hen some. in piss pot and t shirt once the revs went past 3k it was more than flesh and blood can stand...

latest one to get carbs and 'lecrics sorted. might have been a contender if it wasn't for crap striping/paint job. Needs to be candy blue with correct border pinstriping in silver or gold imho. or candy apple red like that 550 i built for me bro in law six years back...

i remember sitting on one in a showroom when they first appeared. they looked so radical, particularly because you sat in it instead of on it. at the time, it was a little too much for me, but it was the shape of things to come.

 :lol :thumbup
MCT is a suspension company run by Darren in Stowmarket mate, hes brilliant with all set ups but does a particularly excellent front end one for gen one fazers. Me and Dynspud have them on our bikes and swear by them :)

its a weird acronym for Easily As Good As A USD Front End, Some Would Say Even Better. strange I know, but I think the original AGAAUSDFESWSEB just wasnt snappy enough.  :) ;)

Not Harley fan myself, but if I was to have one it would be this one

Gnasher I had one of these but hated thetwin lights, especially as one is dip and the other head, meaning riding around looking like someone has given your bike a black eye. modded a bosch metal shell headlight and bracket (off a ducati monster) to fit instead, and done away with most of the chrome, much betterer, and cooler. shame about the gimp rider though...
