It's looking good big yin! What made you go with the Kwak over the competition?

Brand new Frank Thomas One Piece Leathers in Size 40

Beautifully made British design and of great quality 1.4mm cowhide

Protection is offered to all main impact zones including elbows, shoulders and knees

I bought these to do some track days, but never got around to it. Now the weather is changing I figured that someone else may actually get the use out of them

Anyone in the Glasgow area is welcome to try them on and I will ship all over at the world

I've had a look on eBay and it seems £300 is the going rate, so Foccers price of £250 £200 TO CLEAR + postage.

Thanks for all the sentiments guys. Very considerate... But I should have been clearer in my writing. 12 years in to the relationship and I thought "I've had enough", and that was that. Within six weeks I had my house and my freedom back. And I'll tell you what, being 35 and single is awesome. That was actually over a year ago now, and I've been lucky enought to meet a beautiful woman that's four sizes down at the waist and three sizes up at the chest from the EX  :thumbup . She's funny, kind-hearted, independent and her old man rides a bike.

The ring has to go because I don't really want to have to explain it if she stumbled across it, and she could think it was for her... That would make for and awkward conversation. Erm, no sweetheart, I'm, erm, selling that and going to buy a soft-top...  :lol

I've had to just bite the bullet and accept that eBay may be the way to go. The auction ends later today. I'll let you know if I get what I want for it.

29
Right Foccers, due to, erm, unforeseen circumstances I find myself with an expensive ring and an empty hoose! Well, I've still got my cat and my bike, so it's not all bad. Haha!!!  :lol

Really though, genuine sale here. I've had it on Gumtree and all I'm getting is nutters wanting to swap it for a pot noodle and a go on their trampoline. I don't use eBay anymore cause its terrible, and the jeweller I bought it from is offering me just over 1/3 what I paid for it. So I thought I'd see if anyone on here is interested.

I'd be willing to meet within 100 miles of Glasgow if your a distance away. Nice days only cause I would bring the bike. I would accept bank transfer, but I would prefer you arranged shipping due to the value of the ring. I would arrange shipping for you if that's a problem, but full insurance would be required. Viewing welcome.

Beautiful Diamond Ring set in Platinum

Very high quality, beautifully made and expensive

Round cut, G, SI2, 0.72CT

All paperwork including independent valuation for £4750

Your welcome to have it valued for yourself, provided you can leave a deposit.

This really is a beautiful ring and would make any woman happy

Genuine reason for sale

A close friend that I've known since school inspired me to get my finger out.

He was a chef from about 18 til he was 33 or so. He got fed up working late, and his wife was expecting number 2. He went on one of those GasSafe courses for 9 months and gained his certificates and full gas engineering qualifications. He went on to start his own business, having to beg, borrow and steal for the first two years to make it work.

Five years down the road and he's employed staff, earns well in to SIX figures and just bought a beautiful 5 bedroom house to accommodate baby number 3, or 4, I dunno. Loads of kids anyway.

He's a hard worker and as honest as the day is long. I love him for that and it pushed me on to start my own sound installation business, because I'm a qualified sound engineer and I wasn't even close to using it to my potential. I'm only just starting my journey and am currently on my first job. It's quite exciting really, and you know what? I'm happy at my work.

Chaz, the thing is mate, my legs would be jelly climbing that tower. I suffer from vertigo in certain conditions. Ladders and see through stairs are my worst. Climbing a waterfall at 1900ft elevation, no problem. But a three story scaffolding. No chance. It's weird. I know it. But good on you brother. That takes balls.

By the way, why were you up there?

I finally got myself up Ben Lui. It's one I have wanted to climb for years. She's a beauty. I also did Beinn a'Chleibh whilst I was there. We had to climb a waterfall at about 1900ft. The waterfall was only about 12ft though. That was another wee achievement.

I have two weeks holiday coming soon, so I hope to drag myself up a few Munro's then too. Fingers crossed the weather will be decent.

+1 for the toothbrush.

Also, a 15ft piece of string/wheel alignment tool.

Does it work? And have you made it look any better?

I got a Viper seat a couple of years ago for touring. It works a treat, although hanging off in the bends is awkward. Still, its all day comfy and it looks great (I think).

I've taken my Fazer round the Nurburgring 6 times and counting. He does just fine. I'm not breaking any records, but it handles well. Past a few sportbikes in my time too. Only on the road mind.

Advice, Info and open invite.

I am thinking of taking a day trip on the 10th of June as a foot passenger. I've never been before and was wondering (from experienced TT goers) if it is worth £30-40 for a fanzone ticket, or if I should just go free spirit style and wing it when I get there.

Are there plenty toilet facilities? Is it easy to get about? The usual stuff to be considered for any event/festival.

Oh, and if any of you foccers fancy it... The ferry is about £60. Everything else is up to you.

Car pull's and so on could be arranged and meet in Heysham.

Have at it lads  :)

Do you not need a permit to drive on the motorways in Belgium? I've never bought one, just saying.

Also, Belgium sucks. I've been a few times. Last year my mate and I fuel'd up at the French border so we wouldn't have to stop until we go to Holland. I'm not even joking. It's a yawn-fest. It encompasses the worst of the three countries surrounding it.

You should have asked him if he would prefer you just killed yourself there and then  :lol .

I mean, you don't want to be upsetting drivers. Best we all just do a pact suicide and be done with it.

Bikers  :rolleyes

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Replacing Steering head bearings
« on: 28 March 2015, 01:43:53 pm »
I recon they are taking the piss with that quote. They were an advisory on my MoT last year. I went to visit another, well known/regarded, garage in my area before I went on a euro tour last year. The owner test rode my bike and said it would be £150 all in, but... The bike is fine for now and to spend my money on my holiday. I told him I will be going to the Nurburgring and covering over 3000 miles, and that I would probably do the job myself when I get back as I will have time. He said - Have a great time and if you need any advice doing the bearings, drop in and see us. I went back with a couple cases of beer.

Point being, your quote was too high, and they would have to be really bad to NEED changing.

All balls set for £30, upgrade to the alternative type bearing and use plenty grease. Buy a Haynes manual.

I have the stuff there, but have decided to do a full rebuild instead, so bought an Aprilia Tuono to use for a year whilst the Fazer is off the road. That way I have a year to do everything  :D

Fazersharp -  :finger :lol . The top and drawers were part of a coffee table that was left in my house when I bought it. I try and recycle when I can.

Harry - I don't know if a standard size garage is a thing, but my garage is nothing out of the ordinary. It takes a fairly large car and two motorcycles, or five motorcycles. The car lives outside  :lol .

I have pulley's for the bikes. Although I would rather mount them vertically on one of the beams as they take up less space that way. A 6in nail would do for that. Or a hook. The pulley's are good, but I often bump my head on the wheels. I also have to remember to turn the crank so that the pedals are out of the way.

Today I climbed my first mountain of the year. Well, the first two, actually. Cruach Ardrain and Beinn Tulaichean were the order of the day. And what a day it was. It was a REALLY hard walk. Up and down, up again, down again. All day. The weather went from raining, to heavy snow, to blazing sunshine, some fog, wind, t-shirt warm and down jacket cold. Typical Scottish weather then.

We stopped for something to eat behind a large crag. My mate said to me "have a look at this", and I stood up to see. Unfortunatly the wind took my bag, which was sitting beside me, and fired it down the mountain. Like a scene from Fawlty Towers, my camera bag came flying out the rucksack. Then the camera came flying out the camera bag. And they all took a tumble about 500 vertical feet down the mountain. We could do nothing but wait to see when, and if, they would stop. They did, after traversing snow, rock, moss and more.My mate felt guilty as it was him that said - look over here. He insisted on retrieving it. Who am I to say no? I did get a picture of him about 30ft from the camera bag. Its the first image. On the way back we took right fork instead of the left. Basically because it was heavy snow on the way up and we never even seen the fork. That resulted in a questionable scramble and climb down some serious faces. There was one point we had to jump from moss on to a little pointed rock. It was only 5ft down, but getting it wrong meant a broken bone at best. I was a bit apprehensive, but did it anyway. The thought of climbing back up those faces did not appeal. It took us about 8 hours and I recon we covered 18-20km at least. My right knee is gubbed, my legs are tired and I'm just about falling asleep. All in all it was a great day.
