General / Re: Why so many Tracers for sale
« on: 02 January 2017, 11:35:12 am »
there are a lot of older folks with money these days good pensions etc etc ,
also most by the time they reach 55 or more kids have grown up and moved on ,mortgage paid ,no debts.
some if not most are reliving their youth by buying big bikes not realising that they are way to fast for them to handle.
I've never had a bike that is bigger than a 700cc and I don't feel that I need one.
sure I had a couple of fast bikes which are considered these days to be slow but I don't call 145mph slow!!
my favourite of all bikes is the Fazer 600 03 model.
and the nearest that I can buy new and have is a tracer 700.
any bikes that can do 100mph is a fast bike in my book.
this is what I currently own...

all very well disabling the mobile whilst in the car but what if you've crashed in the middle of no where and can't get out of the car?
yes by all means do it but once the motor is stopped then you should be able to use the mobile.

theres are bad drivers every where.
its best to curse to yourself ,its not worth it chasing after them coz of bad driving.
you just don't know who you are dealing with.
they may have a knife ,gun ,club or what ever.
remember kenneth noye who stabbed another young driver.
its just not worth it .

« on: 22 November 2016, 05:07:41 pm »
the insurance are dismissing his claim.[/size]I did not go directly into the back of him which he claimed.he was driving to my right at the roundabout and I was going straight ahead and just clipped his plastic bumper and left a little scuff mark.I also said to them that if I had hit it hard enough to cause injury dont you think that we'd come off worse seeing that we were on a motorbike?I also to the insurance I do hope that your going to do him for fraud.. you mention that to him and he'll shit himself. they laughed.anyway the reason I put this post up is to let any of you know ..even though you settled without going through insurance get as many details off him or her.are hurt? if they say no get it in writing and if they refuse get the police involve.

General / accident claim?
« on: 22 November 2016, 12:17:18 pm »
just had a phone call this morning from my old insurance that a old bloke is making an injury claim?
had an accident last year on my bike as mention before on here, jag
he pulled out as I was moving onto the roundabout and he stopped suddenly in my path so I just clipped his bumper.
we settled it without making any claim or no exchanged of details etc.
now the old git is making a claim for injuries what I dont know.
how the hell he got injured if I just clip his rear bumper?
I told them (old insurance) we just clip his bumper and he was perfectly alright 3 weeks later when wee went to pay him.
if we had hit him hard dont you think we would of made a claim? also we never came off  we just stopped and waited for him.
5 f'in months later I get this?? bastid.

the tracer has a good distance travel on a full tank roughly 200 or more miles.
most guys get on average of 60 to 70 mpg.
#
just made a prototype rack today .

the reason why I went for the 700 and not the 900 is that I wasn't all that keen on the looks .
also not looking for power I've done all the fast riding etc.
not interested  speed or accelerating fast.
my last bike was an NC 54 bhp torque 50 and I found that plenty fast for us(wife comes with me)
the tracer has 50 torque at around a thousand revs more and 74 bhp.
having an extra 20 or so hp I'm not sure what the gain is there.
yes its a cracking bike as soon as I did the test ride I was sold.

« on: 19 November 2016, 12:09:12 pm »
I dont see the problem
you've already got the fazer 600(R6 engine etc) and 800 which doesn't share anything with the older Fazer but name.

General / Re: MT Bikes
« on: 18 November 2016, 09:30:10 pm »
it doesnt have to be a split forum.
just add another at the bottom and if anyone want to have a looky etc..
that way we get to keep all the good folks on here and still blab on about the Fazer.
would it make any difference if yamaha call the bike Fazer 700 instead of tracer? think not.

General / Re: its time..

when I took it for test ride doing 16 miles, that was enough to convince me that this a fazer replacement!
when I sold the fazer I wanted something a little lower and lighter so I traded it in for a ER6F .
I just couldn't get along with it did 4,000 in 4 years and it almost killed biking for me.
if it wasn't for our lass convincing me to try another ,I wouldn't be riding today.
I dont know what it was with the ER tried two seat mods, higher bars..
hip use to ache every time I did a long trip..
I've had a couple of maxi's so I considered getting one...
I said to our lass if they(japs) bring out an auto bike I'll buy it.
ended up with an NC700X dct loved it but not the looks.lol
I thought when I'm sat on I'm not looking at it .. after a while it didn't look to bad.
I was planning on selling it and getting a 'S' 750 model then yamaha brought out the tracer 700.
ooh I like that and a test ride prove it was the one for me.
got a good part ex.with it being an ex demo I saved about £720...
it only had 350 mile of which I did 16 miles.
its off the road at the mo but getting all the accessories on.
I'm like a big kid in a candy shop(just turned 65) :lol

in that case I'll stay.
I wasn't sure if I could contribute any info on the fazer as it has been 9 years since I had my last one.
must admit I like this forum,I find it friendly unlike others who are quick at being well let say unpleasant.
not to me personally but to others and I dont think its called for.
take a piss yeah no problem with that but getting personal I do object.
how about the administrator adding the tracer 700 to this forum it is after all a yammy and similar to the fazer.

for me to move on.
thanks to all who have help me in the past and present.
it has been a pleasure being on here reading all comments good and bad.
it doesnt look like I'll ever get a Fazer coz I've just bought a Tracer 700 and very happy with it.
been waiting for yamaha to come out with another FAZER look a like or similar.

I've just bought this one.
to be honest I'm not clued up on all this fancy gizmo's.
this one claims to be genuine sjcam but I thought they are all the same and a direct copy of go pro except price.
you can get them for as little as £13 to what I paid but they all look the same to me.
any idea what the difference?

General / Re: Pimping Accessories From China
« on: 05 July 2016, 06:05:03 pm »
I've had 3 sets of Chinese levers on my bikes and on my current bike inc footrest lowers.
good quality to.
left hand foot lowers did not break when I lost my footing just bent them.
bolt etc never snapped or cracked when I straighten them
so I think they're good value and cheap as chips.
I would not hesitate buying another.
