I think I'd be looking for an electronic ignition conversion kit. Are Piranha or Boyer Brandsden still around?

I mentioned this a couple of years ago. Until fairly recently it was only the mint low milers that were fetching over £2k but that seems to be the going rate now for anything reasonable with up to 30k miles from a dealership and the really good ones are quite a bit more. Having said that with the ridiculous prices being asked for some of the older stuff, they're still something of a bargain.

Some may say so, but I assume rest don't agree :rollin :rollin
I guess it depends on which old ones you're referring to.

Afternoon all, thought I’d pop my head in & see what’s going on these days and what do I find? Trev’s imitation thread is still going  ;)  Not a patch on the original  :lol

Oooooo, what was it like, do tell......
Pretty much like this one but a bit sooner, I'd imagine.

What is odd, is that those who want to understand the messages sent from the government don't seem to struggle to. The virus is still out there and still killing people. I don't consider myself to be especially clever but i get it.
It's about personal responsibility, some have it, others it seems don't. Pointing at other people and saying 'well they did it' is only a valid excuse if you're pre-school age.

Seeing comments about the Liverpool idiots - they point at the beach idiots and say look they do it, and the beach idiots point at the black lives riots and say look they do it and the government look at the black lives riots --- and look away.
Unfortunately the authorities had to look away from the BLM demonstrations. How would it have read in the left wing media if a right wing government had tried to prevent or stop them?

I blame Johnson for telling everyone the pandemic is over  :pokefun
Johnson has never once said that the pandemic is over and you know it and even if if had, it's not his fault that all these filthy fucking scumbags are crowding onto the beaches and leaving their shit behind them.

Why is it that wherever people gather in large numbers they leave mountains of rubbish behind them? They reckon they collected over 2 tons of rubbish (including burger boxes with human shit in) just from Bournemouth beach yesterday. There was an illegal rave in Manchester last week an the aftermath looked like a fucking land fill site. People are just fucking disgusting.

Well... errr… it's totally impractical, it's got clip-ons and rearsets and a brown saddle. Somebody's gonna give their seal of approval I would think. Not for me though, I think I like my bike a bit more 'normal' looking. Would love to be able to afford one though.

Yeah, people like me. :lol   Now where the heck did I put my pipe cleaner.

To be fair, you had kind of excluded yourself from your description of BMW riders by implying that they were no longer purely for that kind of person. But even if you do see yourself in that way (which I find highly unlikely) I'm sure that many owners would find what you wrote really quite rude and offensive.

BMW’s did used to, for quite some time, have a reputation of being the sensible option.  The gentleman’s steed.  As opposed to the brash new, look at me, go faster bad boy Japanese bikes.  And have you ever seen the BMW club roll into your town?  Plenty of beards, half face helmets and yes pipes.

Oh that's fine then. It's ok to be rude about them.

No longer are they purely for flat cap sporting, slipper wearing, pipe smoking wankers.

Isn't that kind of character profiling tens of thousands of people you've never even met, simply by the make of motorcycle they choose to ride?

The front suspension was shit on the early ones. But I thought lessons had been learnt.
This bike, I think, is easy on the eye. At least it doesn't have a brown saddle and tyres off a tractor. :lol

If it did somebody would put it in the 'cool bike' thread. :D

But just fitting wide bars and knobblies or clip ons and a seat hump to any old bag of shit doesn't automatically make it cool. You can polish a turd but you just end up with a shiny turd.

That has to be, quite possibly, the ugliest and most uncool production bike that I’ve ever had the displeasure of having to look at.

I mean, If you parked that up outside your local artisan, hipster, wanky café, some of the ponsey customers would probably throw up on the spot, and the usual pretentious fud of an owner might just ask you to move it across the street.

That thing is the absolute polar fucking opposite of cool.  Jesus!

Pass me the petrol can and matches please. :evil

Not exactly my bag but not everyone judges cool by what would be appreciated at a hipster café.

Don't think it's a Sportster. Looks like a 1340 engine, Sportsters were either 883 or 1200, and it's a US import due to the reflectors on the forks.

Definitely is a Sportster, the crankcases on the bigger engines are completely different and UK spec bikes have those reflectors as standard.

I have always wondered about people who wear on piece leathers on non-race type motorbikes :pokefun

You still see-men in them though :lol
