will need some of the little infills aswell to turn the egg shaped hole into a round one for the new indicator stem
i just used some bloody big washers and painted them black, i trimmed my plate down a bit as well to give as much visibility for the cars behind at an angle

this is what i am saying 'the slotted part' is a jet this should ALWAYS have a hole
the long piece underneath is just a holder and it holds the jet and allows fuel metering by the tapered needle as it raises

if there is no hole there is no fuel - factory standard is a #115 in the uk,

ok so number 14 is the center one on this pic and should have 115 stamped on it - all should have holes thats your main jet (looking at spares now)
if i remember top left is a 0.6 which is a blank and has no hole (8 on fowlers)
top right is the starter jet so should be a a long one with holes (just much smaller - number 7 on fowlers)
there is also an air jet at the mouth of the carb but be realy carefull with that one and just used compressed air/carb cleaner and a little bit of wire to clean that one as they often get stuck and take some getting out if it goes wrong (fowlers number 6)

just found pic of my 0.6 jet on torch so here you go

quickly skim read while having a few beers and bloody hell it doesnt read well
first - stop testing voltages on a switch, you need to test continuity that is what matters (on switch testing anyhow)
set your voltage tester to the little symbol that probably looks like a speaker and it beeps when you touch your two probes together
pull the plug from the side switch to main loom and put a probe on each wire switch side (pulling the plugs seperate any false connectivity elsewhere)
press/depress the switch a few times and you should get a beep beep beep (cant remember the config on sidestand)
my guess is the beep will be continuous and the switch needs a good spray with contact cleaner when pressed in or stripped down and cleaned if possible, if its beep beep beep then the switch is fine

i just removed the reflector, trimmed my plate down a bit and cut the excess from the plastic (simple and free- reflector needed for mot though)

Do the carbs have to be stripped to go in the tank, or bung em in all in one piece?
if the tank is big enough just part stripped, tops/botoms off remove sliders, jets out to go in seperatly
(whole carbs can go in but the more removed easier it is for debris to come out internally)

just had a thought and it will be easy enough to check now and save time later - might be worth checking your fuel levels in your carb
(4-16 in manual) somethings niggling me about the running ok on choke making me wonder why its running lean the rest of the time.

and im assuming you have given your carbs a clean to ensure there isnt gunk blocking any of the jets
not just a tub of redex in the tank, i mean a proper clean (it is a ballache getting past that airbox though)

ok not managed to read everyones replys as in bit of a rush today
i did a vid on this and found balancing imposible due to a miss placed spring on the MIDDLE balance screw so it wouldnt return no matter how much i unscrewed and there fore couldnt balance (it was seriously off aswell)
im hoping than this is your problem because as it is not moving at all then your more likely looking at valve clearances (easy) and if all that is good then it could easily be a head off and reseat your valves (dont worry i did a video on doing that aswell)

i used a cheap koso knock off and was ok untill i got stuck out in some rain and it started failing (should have waterproofed it)
i used some dominators and ended up adding a couple of relays to run brighter bulbs (osram night breakers)
NEVER NEVER try and polish the interiors of dominators it isnt chrome its a wierd thing that metal polish removes

and if you try going through the pod filter route expect nothing but hassle it took ages to get the jetting sorted and even then i always wanted to get it on a dyno to make sure it was right or make a custom air box for a k+n panel filter like 'Major Fazer' by Bad Winners

why do i have a feeling that problem took a fair while to find, blaming clutch and stand switches first

prob an m6/m8  just pop down Wilko's and grab the shortest you can

i had this and ended up thinking it was chain and sprocket when fitting it turned out to be the sprocket carrier bearing
time for new bearings - doesnt cost  much thankfully, and not a bad thing to get done anyhow

i take that back about the alarm being standard because there is a couple of looms on ebay with what looks like a piece of shit alarm
these bikes were released when system 3 was one of the major systems of the time so maybe it was just a coincidence that a lot of people have them

FZS600 Fazer / Re: its been awhile my fazer 600 hstory update

just had a look through the manual and the alarm is there on all fazers, the hazard switch is 00 onwards BUT it looks like the wiring loom is the same throughout the models and the datatool 3 seems to be in everyones so is probably the default factory system
the wiring for the hazard switch is in the switch cluster itself and not affected by the loom

i think you might need to get a wiring loom with the alarm on already because im not sure where the connections are and if i remember rightly when they were installed all the wires were black so it was harder to mess with and bypass if stolen (which is why mine probably got burnt out somewhere)

if you manage to get a wiring loom with a datatool system 3 but they dont send keyfobs there is a way to reset them for new fobs which is online, and if you need a fob i can send you mine out as i think i have them in a drawer somewhere and dont need them since mine got stolen
(kept them for this reason lol)
im rarely on here nowadays so if you find you need them contact me at Lordvettinari@hotmail.com and i will get them sent out to you

Why don't you put photos up, number plate, etc, on here so people can keep an eye out?
Think there's a website for stolen vehicles as well if you have a search.

its all over facebook and been shared around all the local bike groups, its the same group who are nicking them in this area they tend to stay nearby
was out with my alarm keyfob walking around the dodgy areas just listening for the alarm to beep lol

Not everyone uses Facebook, and.....we are a UK/Worldwide bike group who specialize in Fazers, meaning we would spot one quicker than others.
This should be the first place you put photos up!
i dont use facebook myself but we know around here it is the same scumbags that steal the bikes and they never leave the county - this has been shared with every club in the area including the ones i can not name (this is Lancashire  so you know who + plus the ones who also ride here)
