Still for sale, I'm not using it, so it may as well go to someone ready for summer.

Dropped to £160 posted, or make me an offer.

For Sale & Wanted / For sale - FZS600 R6 shock conversion.
« on: 12 March 2017, 01:43:58 pm »
Hi all

I've got a converted R6 shock for sale. I bought and converted it for my bike but haven't got round to fitting it and now I'm not sure if I'll be keeping my bike so it may as well go to someone who'll use and appreciate it.

It's got a 625lb 6 1/2 inch spring (from Fax shocks) fitted at ktech, and comes with top hat spacers, an M10 mounting bolt for the top and 6mm steel 128mm dogbones (which should keep the standard ride height more or less)

There's a small scrape to the spring and a knock to the top.

Looking for £180 posted.

If I've forgotten anything important, just ask.

There's a back up fuse in the fuse box under the seat.

Have a look at it as I'm fairly sure it's this that has blown.

(Happened to me a couple of years ago)

There's one at my in-laws, just round the corner from me, I could have pushed my bike round.
But alas it's still sat on the drive.

I use leather balsam renapur
bought a tub from a country fair bout 10yrs ago and not even halfway down it!!

I use it on leathers
boots
etc!

I've got something similar, I use it on gloves and boots mainly as I usually wear textiles; the water just beads off.

Cost me a tenner, four years ago and still have loads left.

The nuts are usually called "all metal locking nuts" either The nuts are usually called "all metal locking nuts" either with a flange or not. There are loads of different types.

Try these:

Or Probolt do them too:

+1 for Broadside, Old Peculiar Hobgoblin and Summer Lightning.

Have a go with some of the Oakham Ales. JHB and Inferno are worth a punt.

I hadn't read the last few posts before setting off this morning and only read the last one while stopped outside the shops.
It doesn't really count, especially if anyone can get a picture up of a monastery/priory but I thought I'd share it anyway.

I was out early and got a picture of Barnack Hills and Holes. It's an old quarry where the stone was quarried for Peterborough and Ely cathedrals. It's a nature reserve now and an excellent place for butterflies and walking the dog.

Difficult to get a decent picture though.

« on: 25 April 2016, 07:53:41 pm »
I found led indicators on my old cbr600 weren't very bright, so changed them to bulbs.
I fitted my Fazer with an extra led tail light though after nearly being rear ended by a van going at 30 when I was stopped, indicating into my driveway with my brakes on. I made an alu bracket and attached it to the number plate screws. It's surprisingly bright.

Welcome to the forum Kelly,

You could always look into these

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=150711950013&alt=web

Personally, I've never seen a set that look like they've always belonged on the Fazer, some look alright but there are some really terrible ones kicking about.

I did the dash and air intake covers of my old CBR600 in carbon vinyl. Looked alright but came away from the concave curvy bits.

I've also put scotchlite reflective bits on my Fazer 600. Not sure how well they reflect at night (or if they're any good where they're placed) but I like the contrast.

I had a spring made up for the R6 conversion by Gaz shocks (gazshocks.com) at 675lb and 6 1/2" in length. Cost me about £35 delivered. They said they could have any spec made up for tha.  Then had the spring swapped by K-tech for the price of postage.
Just an option.

I have, I bought this one for a friend who wanted me to convert it for him, but didn't do it in the end. He's since got rid of his Fazer.

I've still got this R6 shock for sale.

It's got approximately 9k miles on it and some stone chips to the spring.

I'm looking for £75 posted.

I thought Micron had gone bust.

The thing that gets me about the second hand OEM downpipes that are sometimes up for sale on eBay, they're usually rusty as anything, and the sellers want £150 usually.  Might as well buy a stainless set for not much more, OEM or not.

I did notice that, as well as the fact that they're quite a bit thicker and so I struggled to get the nuts on more than I should have.

They were direct from Motad through eBay.
The centre stand bracket is on the link pipe by the way.

I managed to get mine on eBay for £185 which included gaskets and delivery.

You should be able to get them for something around that quite easily.

Oh, and if they sell you a badly welded. unpolished set, get on the phone and moan as that's what happened to me. e.g.

BSD engineering are close to me in Peterborough. Eye Green actually. That's who I was supposed to contact for your forks but I've been that busy, I keep forgetting.

In fact, I've just called them and they'll get back to me hopefully this afternoon.
