unpartitioning a hard drive - help please
« on: 19 October 2011, 11:09:08 am »
is there any foccer nearby that could please help me understand how to unpartition matts hard drive, at the moment one bit is full, but i cant work out how to move stuff over to the empty side- like all his i-tunes - as then when he goes to play them it cant find them - so i have obviously missed out a needed and simple (not for this foccer) process in it all.

i could bring it round to a foccers house, or probably do it with a bit of phone help

we are in kettering and its an acer pc

thanks

In iTunes you can set up the location for the media folder if you select Preferences and go to Advanced. You can then select your old library and import it to the new location.
However, be careful when removing partitions... many utilities take a scorched earth policy and lose the directory. Since USB drives are pretty cheap it might be a good idea to back up any files you really don't want to lose first, just in case things go pear-shaped.

If I can find my mate sober,  I'll get him to speak to you when I get over to Ireland,  and email instructions.  He's a computer know most of it.

PM me your email and phone number and I'll see what I can do.   I'm going over to Ireland tomorrow so he'll be round at my folks house on Thursday.  So I'll get him to work.   Should cost me a bottle of Frosty Jack, since he's an alcoholic  :eek

Are we talking about 2 partitions on a single drive here or multiple drives. If it's multiple partitions on 1 drive then you just need to adjust the size of the partitions. You can achieve this by installing and using EASUS partition manager. It's quick and easy.
