« on: 07 September 2012, 09:56:46 pm »
gonna add my tuppenny bit here.....

being from the the isle of man since birth i would object to removeing my helmet to pay for petrol for the same reasons mentioned earlier(religion)  i agree sorta...but
...since moveing to what i believed was and to be honest is a quiet part of the south of the uk i will remove my helmet without arguement when i see a sign requesting it......

lets not forget that it isnt just a ballaclava that armed robbers wear is it?,

my daughter panics when i walk in my own house with it on so i can only imageine that the arse of cashier late at night would be twitching when an un faced person wlks in or upto them..

conclusion..........remove it...for respect.

id start from the beginning of basics........check for spark, fuel getting through, maybe put sum fuel in each plug port and see if it fires first go if u got a spark,if it does then id say fuel starvation :)    im no mechanic but never had to bike into a shop yet:)

depends how neat u want the job to look?   if its mint ur after i would removeit and sand it back, plastic weld(or araldite)fill the gap left sand smooth, prime and respray.

time consuming but worth it id say.

other more qualified folk may have a different opinion tho

unfortunatley i dont have a garage with the flat we are in atm just a shed(which is 12inches too short grrrr) so have to settle for battery off and in the hallway.

leave on or just charge every couple of weeks??

« on: 05 February 2012, 07:31:57 am »
morning all :)

just a quick one that some may find abit daft but here goes,

winters here blah blah....since moveing to the main land from the isle of man i dont have a garage for the bike so it lives out side next to my shed that is 12 inchs to short to fit bike in(fckin typical)..anyway...i have it covered with an oxford all weather stormtech cover so all is good....gave a good coating all over with a rag and wd40 before hand, now question is...

..shall i take battery off and leave in the house or start the bike once week? the bike wont get used now till the threat of snow has passed so cld be weeks cld be months.

anything else i should consider?

The pics taken at Langstone Harbour in Portsmouth, the shop I'm using is a few miles away where I got the bike from so it's still under warranty! Hopefully!!!!

ah still abit  from here then, round the corner from me cousins tho im sure.

its a non movable part so" should" be covered easily by warranty :D

« on: 04 February 2012, 08:26:29 pm »
the plates may be swapable but most fittings are bike specific i think.....i have this one  http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/FZS_600_Fazer/98-99/picture/GIVI_Luggage_-_Monorack_Kit_with_Monokey_Plate/

if i can find it il try find where i got my box from its a good size...cant remember what litre...but it does the job , maybe post a pic if ya need it

General / Re: Givi boxes.. HELP!
« on: 04 February 2012, 07:38:30 pm »
there are of course cheaper options, i have a givi rack for my 99 fzs which i got for a snip at 10 quid from a mate at work,  shopped around for boxes for it and well my budget was tight so original givi was out of range for me, managed find a mono key box that fits straight onto the rack with no problems, its secure and cant be taken off without the key.

so the options are there, unless money is no object then givi all the way but .....still a shopping trip on the inter web works well for us less financially endowed lol
