For Sale & Wanted / For sale - FZS600 R6 shock conversion.
« on: 12 March 2017, 01:43:58 pm »
Hi all

I've got a converted R6 shock for sale. I bought and converted it for my bike but haven't got round to fitting it and now I'm not sure if I'll be keeping my bike so it may as well go to someone who'll use and appreciate it.

It's got a 625lb 6 1/2 inch spring (from Fax shocks) fitted at ktech, and comes with top hat spacers, an M10 mounting bolt for the top and 6mm steel 128mm dogbones (which should keep the standard ride height more or less)

There's a small scrape to the spring and a knock to the top.

Looking for £180 posted.

If I've forgotten anything important, just ask.

FZS600 Fazer / Starting issue
« on: 15 November 2015, 12:38:50 pm »
Not sure what's going on, I had the bike off the road for a couple of weeks so I could get the downpipes replaced and when trying to start it up again, killed the battery.

I charged it up and today hit the start button to get a buzzing, clicking noise from the starter relay.

The question is, is it screwed or is there some magical way of sorting it.

All the fuses are good but the battery could probably do with being replaced if I'm honest as the alarm (now removed) killed it a couple of times.

FZS600 Fazer / Exhaust nut choices...
« on: 13 October 2015, 07:28:16 pm »
So... looking to get my exhaust changed as I'll be cutting them off to save any major difficulties (hopefully) and there are loads of different ideas on what's best to replace them with i.e.
Stainless domed
Brass domed
Normal flanged.

I like the idea of domed (particularly brass) but I'm not totally sold.

Thoughts?

As per the title, I'm in need of some spring  compressors and wondered if anyone has any that i could borrow for a couple of days.
I've finally got my replacement spring through for my R6 shock and need to swap it over.
If there is anyone in the Peterborough area +20ish miles that would lend me some that would be great.

For Sale & Wanted / For Sale: RST Paragon 2 Jacket - Medium
« on: 25 June 2015, 12:44:19 pm »
Afternoon all,

As the title says, I've got an RST Paragon 2 Jacket for sale. Size medium.

It's got a 10mm tear to the stitching on the front left pocket and when I bought it, it didn't come with the storm collar, but it's still a blinding 3/4 length winter jacket, even if it is a little warm in summer.

It's fitted with RST Contour padding to elbows, shoulders and back, has a multitude of pockets, and a thermal liner.

I bought it on t'bay last year but
have found it a little on the snug side with the padded liner fitted. I'm a 39" chest, 33" waist and 5'11".

I've got more photos if needed

They're a little dusty as I photographed it in the workshop, but nice and clean now.

General / That's it... I give up!
« on: 21 April 2015, 05:25:48 pm »
I only commute 5 miles a day, 10 minutes each way, and I've nearly been kicked off my bike once on my way in this morning,  and twice on my way home by drivers not opening their fucking eyes.
My wife has just given birth to our daughter 3 weeks ago and I just can't be bothered dealing with the useless fucktards on the roads anymore.
I'm fuming,  thinking that I'm going to be forced off the roads and the one thing I enjoy but I think I'm going to have to.
So... if anyone's in the market for a 2003, 28,000 mile, blue 600 Fazer, send me a pm.

General / No more pillions?

It seems that there are still ever growing disparages between us motorcyclists and car drivers.

I've got a mate at work who's looking at modding his ZZR1100 to handlebars, as he's finding it a bit hard on the old wrists.

I've tried ebay but can't seem to find any second hand. Looking for anything really, off any bike, so long as they're black (less to have anodised) though I suppose beggars can't be choosers.

I don't know if the 1000 ones differ from the 600's but something along those lines would be helpful.

Give me a shout if you've got any lying around and want rid, or if anyone knows where to get some inexpensively that would also be great. Looking to do the whole job for under £50, including buying some renthals.

That said, again, if anyone's got some stock 1000 handlebars that they've replaced with renthals and wants to sell them, let me know.

Cheers

For Sale & Wanted / For Sale: RST Slice Leather Trousers W32 Short Fit
« on: 06 December 2013, 10:01:51 pm »
Hi guys,

I have a pair of RST Slice Leather Trousers for sale. I bought them off t'Bay a couple of weeks ago but alas, they're a touch to short for me.

I'd say they'd fit someone about 5'8" to 5'9" or someone with a 30" ish inside leg. They have got sliders which are unmarked.

They're in good condition, worn once by me and what looks like only a handful of times by the previous owner...no scratches/tears etc, just the white stitching looking only slightly grey. They have Knee armour and pockets for hip armour but no actually hip armour.

Only looking for what I paid for them, otherwise a suppose they'll go back on eBay.

For Sale & Wanted / For Sale - Fzs600 Tail unit, '03 DPBMC
« on: 02 September 2013, 01:14:19 pm »
Hi there guys and gals,

I bought a complete tail unit off ebay as the one on my bike had a chip taken out of it on the right side near the join with the centre section. All I was after was the right side, and the other parts were a little worse for wear than my existing ones. So I've just swapped over the right side.

The colour match was perfect on both of them, as I've reattached my broken right side, to the other bought pieces. (Hopefully that all makes sense)

Anyway, I have the other parts (with cracked right side) that I don't need and thought that someone might get some use out of them, either to replace more damaged bits, projects where you might need to fill/spray them us anyway. Or just as a replacement in the meantime till something better comes along.
I had some serious trouble just trying to find the right side in DPBMC.

I don't want much for it, £20 plus postage (about £6).

The seal was cut off along the inside of the right hand panel with a scalpel and glued back in place once the replacement was done. I found the chip when disassembling and just taped it to the inside if anyone is able to fix it and needs it. All the mounting points are intact with no cracks.

Sorry if the pictures are massive but I thought it'd help to show any dents/scratches.

General / HEL Braided lines
« on: 02 August 2013, 01:34:43 pm »
Hi there guys and gals.

A thread was put up on 16th July by JoeRock about obtaining a 25% discount on HEL products:

http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,8879.25.html

I've messaged Joe and he said to bung this topic up too as I'd just bought my lines before he'd put up his topic.

I managed to find HEL Braided lines from these guys:

https://www.bctmotorcycles.co.uk/catalogue/performance/brakehose/;jsessionid=aIO9CCS9ITSg at £52.16 for a full set.

I was a little dubious at first so rang them up to confirm and indeed was billed £52.16 for plain black stainless ended lines with banjo bolts and washers.

The limitations are the plain colour sleeves and plain stainless ends, but if you're not after anything majorly fancy, then they're well worth it.

They did take 2 1/2 weeks to turn up, but this was mainly down to ordering on a monday morning, a comfirmation email going missing and then me getting off my arse to chase them up. Probably best to order over the phone :)

So there it is, just trying to save everyone a little cash. Thanks to Joe for being understanding and for getting a discount for us as I may need some extra bits and bobs like line stays/splitters anyway.

Hi there guys and gals,
I have few bits and bobs that I'm not using, or not planning on using in the future.

RST Kevlar jeans, size 34x32 (WxL) bought but didn't get on with (prefer me textiles). They come with knee and hip armour. The hip armour has been cut down from some slightly bigger pads to make it more comfortable and the hip pockets are removable. The stonewash/fade on them is a little extreme, but they could always be dyed.

£20 plus postage
Now Sold

Screen was with the bike when I bought it but isn't my cup of tea. It has been used so has a few minor scratches that could be polished out I suppose, but it looks ok and looks like a genuine Yamaha one. I think someone had put an edging strip on it as it came with a bit of gluey residue on the top edge which I've cleaned off

£10 plus postage

The tank bag (magnetic) and tailpack are both Oxford, the slightly older stuff pre x-series and 1st time luggage, but haven't been used much and I'd put them in the nearly new category. I always just ride with a rucksack so don't use them. They've perhaps been used twice. The other reason is 'cause they're red, and I now have a blue Fazer instead of a red CBR. I haven't got the cover for the tank bag, but I can't remember if I have the one for the tailpack.
I haven't got any photos of them at present (I'm at work) but I'll take some this evening and update the thread.
I'm looking for £30 each plus postage.

Cheers all

Hi everyone,

Can anyone identify this make of bellypan? It's the only one I've seen that I really like the look of but can't seem to find it.

« on: 22 April 2013, 10:00:25 am »
Hi guys and gals,

I've been watching the forum (and occasionally posting) for a while in anticipation of picking up my '03 Fazer 600 this weekend just gone. T'is a lovely bike and taking some getting used to after having a 2000 CBR600F. Not better or worse, just different  :)

Hoping to get out a little more this summer as compared to last (blasted rain). I'm based in Peterborough if anyone locally wants to meet up for a ride out.
Anyway, as  :useless , here goes.
