FZS600 Fazer / Re: Tyre choice

Running Maxxis Diamonds on my fazer 1k.  So far, love 'em but not really able to comment on the tyre wear yet but have seem reports of 7 - 10k before needing changing.

Another Gen1 rider here sticking me oar in.  Just changed to a set of Maxxis SuperMaxx diamonds from a set of road pilots.  Only been on for a day but can say already that they have changed the handling for the better, feels more like a sports bike and I'll post again when I get more milage on them.

The reason I went for them?  Mainly cost, cant afford to pay out what a lot of places were asking for better known brands but what tipped the scales was reviews, mainly on wear.  I'm always on the bike and heavy on the rear tyre.  Would love to have a set of tyres that are super sticky but I cant afford to be replacing a tyre every 3-6 months.  I do between 8-10k per year and all the reviews I read on the Maxxis tyres rated the wear between 7-9k, (Give you an idea of my tyre wear, I get 8k from a road attack conti and just got 8k from the road pilot I just replaced), so that works for me.

Pretty much as I got her.  The only changes I made was a double bubble instead of the touring flip screen and a baglux tank cover to match the seat.

no booze after midnight for me on a school night nowadays, always need to drive next day

millefella, tap a tenner, convert it to fuel and go out. you know it makes sense. follow that up by doin nasty things to yer new burd in the kitchen, the hall, the toilet, the outside landing, all the windows and blinds open, wearing a cowboy hat, then go sleep, wake up, sign on, and then do it all again

sorted

Couldnt tie the knot on the rope, even with the aid of your picture Sooooooo I took the bike out.  8 hours in fact and all is right with the world now.  Thanks for that.

A 1977 Duck egg blue Ford Escort mk2 1.1 pop plus with a 1.3 cross flow engine in it.  Pretty reliable.  Parents bought it for me, ran it for a couple of years then changed to a 1983 Nissan Stanza!

Been sat here for a while now, pondering my next move in life and I am at the stage where I cant even be arsed to go out on the bike.  Is this it?  Have I reached the end of my biking days?  Recently moved, still unemployed but have a new love but still cant be bothered even just to slip on my lid and jacket and go out for a blat!  WTF is wrong with me??  When I had my zed12 it was all I could do NOT to go out and it was like that when I first got the fazer so whats gone wrong??  Perhaps the three year break I had from it is playing its hand, dunno.

Anyone else get like this?

Asked to relay this by Victoria...

To all my biker friends! There is a bike sprint meeting on Sunday 22nd October at MOD Woodbridge. Fling your bike down the 1/4 mile strip and see how fast you can really go!! It'd be good to get a group together to go as it's a great day out :)
