FZS600 Fazer / Wheel removal
« on: 26 February 2020, 11:21:45 am »
Hello all
Going to be taking the wheels out for some new tyres - can anyone advise on socket size for both front and rear please. Is it necessary to hold a socket/spanner on both sides of the rear spindle when doing back up?

Thanks

I know but I’d like to do some more trips this year, might take my son on some of them to curry favour with the other half lol if I’m away all day.

I didn’t go to this last year although I’ve been to Yarmouth lots of times so just planning ahead really.

Very sad that someone has died. However if the tables had turned and it was a man in this situation, I’m not sure the public would be so forgiving.

For example, at the age of 31 she was dating a 17 year old, and I believe she had other domestic violence incidents to her name, with two different men. Her boyfriend in this case called 999 after this last one, so it must have been serious.

Would a man who had dated a 17 year old girl, who had (allegedly)attacked two other women before, and was said to have attacked his sleeping girlfriend with a bedside lamp be called “beautiful” in the press and magazines. I think not.

Women have been pushing for parity in police investigations against domestic abusers etc for a long time now. The same crowd now seem to be saying “how dare the CPS pursue her”.

Hello all
Has anyone been to this before? Was going to go last year but didn’t get around to going in the end. Not sure if it’s worth going this year or not...?

FZS600 Fazer / Change fuel filter
« on: 18 February 2020, 10:45:14 pm »
Hello all
Servicing the bike at present whilst the weather is poor. I have a new fuel filter to fit - bit of a noob question though - how is the old one removed? It seems tightly wedged against the bracket that crosses the frame. Does this need removing first? Haines doesn’t say much about it.

 Any help much appreciated.

Thanks for all the replies, very useful. I have a new seal for if I do split the caliper - is there enough space to remove the pistons without doing so? Looks pretty tight. New piston seals from Wemoto........ have read on here since ordering they are not always 100%.They look pretty uniform, are they meant to taper slightly? I have a set of vernier callipers so can check them with those.

I’ve also seen those servicing ads where you can send the calipers off for about £60 so that could be an option but I’d rather do the work myself. A braided hose does sounds good, I presume I’ll need to remove the rear wheel to remove the hose clamp from the swing arm?

Sorry for all the questions!

Hello all
One of the pistons has unsurprisingly seized in my standard rear calliper, so I’m going to sort that soon before the MoT. Does the calliper split in half for removal of the pistons, as I want to put new seals in? Otherwise, it’s looks like a bit of a job getting in there to clean everything and fit new seals.

The other thing I’d like to do is replace the rear brake hose - since it’s “only” the rear hose I’m not necessarily bothered if it’s braided or not, but can’t seem to source any standard hoses. Can anyone recommend something?

Thanks
