Tank fixings
« on: 28 November 2016, 01:04:17 pm »
Hi Guys,

Where the petrol tank bolts down at the front of the bike, is there meant to be any sort of rubber between the tank lug and the frame work?

Kind Regards
Bryan

No not at the front. There are big chunky rubber mounts under the tank where it sits on the main frame, but at the front the protruding lug bolts directly to the frame, no rubber washer or similar.

Remember it only needs to be nipped up, don't lean on that one.

This is true. The thread is knackered on mine. if i ever come off, no doubt the tank will also come off and cover me in petrol resulting in me sliding through the pearly gates as a ball of fire.

Thanks Boys. I re-threaded mine today so will see how it goes with the 6mm bolt. If it loosens again i'll upgrade to 8mm.
