For Sale & Wanted / fzs 600 boxeye for sale
« on: 30 January 2022, 09:07:45 pm »
Thought I'd try this on here as I had a fazer 1000 of here and that went well. I have for sale my year 2000 fzs 600 box eye. Its gold and has many useful mods, I have owned it for five years and has been altered for use in motogymkana competition (look it up ont net, its the best fun you can have on two wheels) It has renthal fat bars, folding brake levers, k tech fork internals, moto gymkhana crash bars cost a fortune from Japan, footrest risers for ground clearance, nitron rear shock, fazer 1000 rear brake mod, higher gearing for acceleration, michelin power cup tyres, serviced by me, new rear brake pads oil and filter.
Covered 22,250 miles total, only covered 1000 miles in five years. Condition. mechanically spot on ride really well, body panels all have scuffs but all intact and solid, nearside mirror missing, mot expired but I am prepared to do this if asking price is achieved or discount the price if you prefer, only done 200 miles since the last one.
All parts included to return to standard, road useable, a bit of a sleeper accelerates incredibly quickly but looks standard

I would like £1150 for it. I have a van and can deliver for the price of fuel if your fairly local to Halesowen, west midlands.

No idea how to load pics on here. I can whatsapp pics to genuinely interested parties..

Regard, Ian

with heavy heart I have to announce that the fazer has been traded in as I had to decide wether to cut my losses and break even or keep on chucking money and time on the off chance that the exup woes would ever be resolved.A great shame as the fazer was the best bike bar one that I have owned during my 33 year riding career.I have some parts that I will put up for sale once I've sorted out whats in the garage. Many thanks to all of you who have helped answer many queries during my ownership of the fazer and good luck to yer all....I'd best foc orf then!

thanks Mike for putting me on the right path.the valve is free until the bolts that hold the pulley holder in place are tightened.even finger tight is enough to cause binding.i have a look at the valve and can't see any warping, the only thing of note is a bit of wear on the back of the pulley plate [I'm sure that's not what its called] it appears that it has been rubbing against the exup valve which has matching groves. It is as if the valve is a fraction too long for its housing, but I guess it cant have grown,so feck only knows whats going on! any advice more than welcome,i'm going to have a sit down and a beer before I start loosing my temper like a big tart.

thanks for that gents, cant open the link 'web page expired' according to my computor.i've checked for cable right way roundness and all appears well.there is the slightest amount of resistance when twirling the valve with finger and thumb but the valve appears to be in good nick,i wonder if I've not left enough slack in the cables or some such, foc knows really!

« on: 12 May 2014, 11:17:17 pm »
e10 petrol refers to the percentage of ethnol in the fuel.uk petrol already has five or ten percnt ethnol in it depending on which petrol storage or refinery it was collected from.chances are you are using 10% ethnol anyway.

are the nightbreakers a straight replacement for the standard or do they require a relay?

I had my bike fully montyfied by Mike on his last trip to our shores, the difference is night and day and it wasn't terrible before hand.it starts easier, has no fluffiness[for want of a better phrase] at low revs, has instant throttle response, goes even stinkier and is easier to ride round town..Don't give it a second thought I recommend this mod 100%.Many thanks to Mike for his expertise and Nick G for the use of his facilities.I'm happy to answer any queries, other than over technical, you may have.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: intermitent exup fault, any ideas?
« on: 24 April 2013, 09:44:52 pm »
I've fixed the bugger! there was a lip on the casting and groves worn on exup valve where the two had rubbing next to each other during operation.i filed the casting smooth with a smooth file and emery clothed the end of the exup valve where it meets the casting, applied copperslip and have riden it for 100 miles or so with no reaccurance of the 7k fault.the valve was sticking open due to the wear on the casting.Hope this helps someone at some point!

« on: 05 April 2013, 08:33:48 pm »
Sorry folks, its another exup question.I have a gen1 1000 that has an intermitent exup fault that has started to appear at low revs while trundling through traffic,I stripped the valve and copper slipped everything, ajusted the cables, test rode the bike again and thought i had cured it,riding again in traffic yesterday the fault code on the tacho was displayed ,i turned the ignition off then on again and rode the bike for 30 miles or so and the fault is no longer displayed, the bike is mint has fsh and 33k miles.Any ideas?
