Title: electrical fault fzs 1000

After the long winter lay up my 03 FZS 1000 was unwraped today, only to discover an electrical fault, the dash is dead no ODO ,time,MPH,or RPM,the fuel gauge registers full and the indicator indicators on the dash (both) are partialy lit, it starts lights work runs ok any sugestions. cheers ste,

If u kept it "wrapped up" outside it may be damp. Get the clocks off (screen and fairing inners out)15 min.  dry it out and check the connectors aswell. Try it and if still not workin check it on another bike.

Yup, good suggestion.  While you have the clocks inside drying, check all the pins on the connector block and trace the wiring loom back to the next connection in line and inspect that, too.  You're looking for corrosion, damp or damage to the tiny pins in the connector block.  Electrical contact cleaner and dialectric grease to clean and then protect against future deterioration.

yep i had this problem too couldnt find the fault so i wired a new live up to second pin on clock connecter block.
so far so good.

Assuming your battery is OK / has been checked?
