I'll be interested in seeing how you progress, I think you nabbed the Micron pipes I was eyeing up!
+1 for the fzs/vtr combo, I have both sitting here as well! 4

I need to get one fitted but buggered if I'm letting them do that to my pipe and charge that much for the pleasure! I did see a couple of cheap FZS pipes on ebay, and at first glances it looks like you'd only need to lop off the bracket to get it to fit, I imagine you'd need to weld on a stop for the centre stand too? I've also been eyeing up those retrofit cats, but none of them seem to match up to my link pipe ID! I'll have to take the midpipe and can off and measure them again to be sure... 5

NCS have a couple of different styles of alarm, I have one on mine which is just a 2 wire job, works well for what it is, loud and sensitive. Easiest way to tell should be the remote, I believe the immobilizer models have 4 buttons whereas the 2 wire version has 3.

That looks more like a telescoping hiking pole than a gas strut, which makes me think you might be able to use one of those telescoping curtain poles if you can find one the right length and type?

Took her to get a new rear tyre, turns out one of the bearings is shot and the inner race is apparently seized to the spindle
now looking for a new set of bearings, and she'll be getting a more in depth once over as there are some other signs that the previous owner was careless with a pressure washer 16

For all-rounders, it's another vote for the pilot roads.
For dry weather or "spirited" riding, I'm a big fan of the diablo rosso's 18

Just a thought, you checked to see if anything is coming out of the overflow pipe?
It could be a problem with one or more of the floats sticking, so it's not building pressure and overflowing? 20

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Bikes died 😧☹« on: 25 June 2020, 08:43:50 pm »Well crisis seems to be averted for now. Charged the battery for a few hours and stuck it back in. Bike fired up straight away and ran fine. check your reg/rec and stator regardless, you probably haven't fixed the problem, you can chuck fresh batteries on there all day if the bike ain't charging them! 23
General / Re: which jet kit or fzs 600 fazer 2000« on: 25 June 2020, 12:51:47 pm »Cheers .it has nowt BELOW 4 k . i have been running it on Profi fuel-max additive FOR OVER 300 miles . Went out this morning for a couple of hours didnt go above 3k as i think the pilot jet works to around 3/4k ?? Seems slightly better . But still has a fluff when you hold it at 3k . Maybe a good strip and clean will do the job . Cheers for the helpful info . I thought the fzs ran on the weak side that is why i was going to rejet . If they run rich as you say should be ok .I have a Zaddoz exhaust sounds cracking but took it off as i thought it was suited to the bike flat below 3k but the Scorpian isnt any better . So after clean out will put it back on . It's badly written, but it runs crap under 4k, and he's gone for a ride keeping the revs under 4k to force the additive through the pilot jets. OP, I wouldn't bother with additives myself, it may even contribute to the running issues. strip and clean the carbs and jets with carb cleaner, and go for a ride with fresh fuel, without adding your own additives. 24
