I think we deserve another pic of the TDR tex...........how are you getting on with it?
  Hi nog,
Yes getting on great with it, nice and light,  keep forgetting it needs loads of revs to pull away which can be enbarasing,  never let me down yet!  Loves the b roads, and had it a year and it has not blown up yet, although  at 10.000 rpm it sounds like it .     :eek ! I'll post a pic soon

I've had a soft spot for black and gold since the Ducati 900 SS from the early 80s.

What a day though! I chose the dealer I went to because they had several examples to choose from, so thought it'd be more likely I'd find one that was right. They also had a Daytona that had been converted to naked from Street Triple parts, which intrigued me - more power! The salesman told me it had been assembled at the Triumph factory using only genuine parts. But in the end, I thought it would be hard to sell if I wanted to try something else later, and the price was too high.

Went down the M6 to Manchester, planning M60, then across the Peaks. Hit Manchester and ended up stuck in traffic for nearly 2 hours due to an overturned tanker lorry. Tried to cut through Manc itself, but hit roadworks and diversions everywhere - must've seen every street in the city centre. Then got stuck behind every slow vehicle trying to head east (strangely, they weren't all blue). Ended up driving the Cat and Fiddle road among others.

Finally got there, and while I was grabbing my bike kit from the car, locked the keys in it  :'( In the end they found someone from a car repair shop next door to break in to it, but before that, I found I'd taken two left hand gloves with me  :'(  so had to buy a cheap pair there, which I'll probably never use again  :rolleyes

Loved the bike on the test ride. Punchy, torquey power delivery, light and nimble, poised and balanced. I think it will be much better suited for some of the roads up here. The riding position got my weight a little over the front nicely, which gave a confident feel. Front brake (radial calipers on the R model) had plenty of bite and feel. Got complimented on it's looks at a petrol station I stopped at. Which brings me to...yep, no fuel gauge, got told by the salesman that the trip meter is tricky to operate (?!), but oh well. Didn't have time to check that.

They had some other nice stuff to drool over in the showroom, including a Spondon ZX10R, Super Duke 1290, RD250LC, an RD500LC that hasn't been started from new  :eek , and David Jeffries proddy TT-winning R1.

I like the black & gold colour scheme. Very nice.

Do you know how much the RD500 was priced at?. I'm guessing somewhere between £15,000-£20,000.

Lovely looking bike you have bought. I had a triumph sprint 1050 and absolutely loved the power delivery and silky smooth throttle. Cracking engines. Good choice :)
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

I don't think it's for sale, nor the 250.

Fitted Oxford hot grips to the Tiger 800, but what a faff! You have to sand down the throttle tube to get the grip to fit. Mind you, with the official Triumph ones costing £185  :eek  it was a no brainer

Good choice Hedgetrimmer! (I may be biased as I've got an 09 ST-R). Good to see you've found a nice one (and the corresponding forum LOL!)

Re sealed the Eunos hardtop rear window when the Focer leaked everywhere after attempting to seal it from the inside only, doesn't look great but at least I don't need waterproofs to drive the thing now

My 03 plate Honda Jazz, very cheap, 120000 mile commuter failed the MOT.  The horn was knackered, which it's been for the past three MOTs, it worked but didn't really make a lot of noise, this time they didn't like the fact it kind of made a noise and then kind of honked, said it was two tone and not allowed.  :lol

Anyway, they joys of an old car is that I get to go and play down the scrappy in a situation like this.  :)

Got a new horn, realised the pump for the rear screen wash (that had packed up last year) was situated just to the side of the horn, so grabbed that too, BONUS!

Fitted both, both worked, MOT passed and I can now wash my rear window as a bonus!  :)
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys beer, and that helps!

Mine is in my local garage.....full service, pre mot, powder coating the swingarm and top yoke, cleaning, greasing, steering head bearings, sorting out the lights, carb balancing..........looks like ill be skint.......but illhave a fully operational bike come april which is a rarity for me. 8)

Next year it will be the breaking system & a new seat unit....maybe cafe racer style....possibly a new headlight.

Yesterday, took delivery of the Street Triple, took the battery off and put it on maintenance charge, locked the bike up, pulled a cover over it, and watched the snow bury it and the Fazer  :\

Also arranged to have a nice large shed installed to hold both bikes and give me somewhere to work on them, installation date end of Feb.
