Title: Back again
Post by: stevierst on 18 September 2018, 05:51:45 pm
Well after a brief break away with a few other machines, I'm drawn back to a Fazer thou gen 1 again. This time an exupless, dynojetted, MCT suspended bike in of course the fastest colour, silver

Welcome back stevie.
It's no coincidence that when you read "silver" backwards, it sounds like "revless"  :lol

Welcome back Stevie. The pull of the Fazer is strong. Can't get rid of mine. Every now and then it comes out and reminds me how good these are.
Sure, they have no fancy electronics but that is part of the appeal. Raw muscle. :thumbup

Exupless?

Welcome back  :)

Exupless?

Yep, one of the previous owners has removed it for some strange reason, and they dynojetted it! I nearly didn’t buy it because of it missing. Gotta admit though, 3/4 of the bottom end grunt is still there surprisingly enough, then goes like a stabbed rat over 7k!

Gonna try and source some parts to put it back on methinks.

Anyone got some exup bits knocking around? 🤔

Hiya and welcome back. Re:exup, have a look at the post in for sale by Mick-H. He's broken a perfectly good bike due to derisory offers when it was for sale. On ebay he's got the valve and a set of headers, if that's any help.

The front end has had new springs, and the valves have been fiddled with (shim stacks?) then new oil, but I have no idea what weight they have used. They did the same to the back end with a new spring/revalve. It’s really made a difference!!
Back end feels the same as my last gen 1 that had an r6 shock fitted.

Having had my interest raised about MCT suspension, can I be cheeky and ask what sort of price that would cost? really want to get my thou sorted suspension wise, but MCT are one hell of a trip for me. They seem to get great reviews of their work though.

Sorry I took so long. Just had a look at the receipt from MCT, for the fork, shock rebuild, and springs cost £575. I didn’t do it myself, it was the previous owner in 2016.

Thanks Stevierst, I have a r6 shock to go on, gonna take the forks off the bike and send them to MCT for revalve / respring. Oh and to free off the comp damping adjusters as well...
