General / how much is my bike worth??
« on: 13 February 2017, 02:34:57 pm »
looking at selling the old girl on within the next couple of weeks, i'm leaving the country soon and will buying  another bike when i'm settled and steady, plus bikes are cheap where i'm going (Guernsey) so i can pick up a low mileage example of something for not much outlay.
so,, she's a 1998 model on an S plate, just coming up to 30,000 miles. she has a rad guard, fender extender, tribo seat cover, stainless down pipes and carbon effect end can, she also has headlamp shields that are not currently fitted.
the top fairing has been cut down due to too many cracks ( she was a cat D a few years back and had cosmetic damage and the original fairing was repaired/glassed up but had cracked over the years) so I trimmed it back and secured it firmly.
she has 8 months MOT and has just had a new battery, all tyres and consumables are in top notch condition ( the rear tyre has about 300 miles on it BT010 Battlax) and she will also come with original mirrors and bars plus the fairing brackets etc.

I know that some people expect the world for their bikes and refuse to shift on a price that they have in mind, i have no clue of its worth and trust you guys to give me an honest opinion of its value.

so , what price should i be looking for guys? it's going to be listed on here when i have no more need of it  :'(

FZS600 Fazer / high beam problem
« on: 08 November 2016, 01:26:01 pm »
it would appear that i have some kind of intermittent fault, sometimes high beam and pass light works, some times it doesn't, is this a common thing with fzs600 or do i just need to silicone spray the living knackers out of the connectors?

General / after a new exhaust? have a read here first
« on: 26 June 2016, 05:10:05 pm »
so when I bought the fazer last month I knew that I would be replacing the end can, it had been damaged by the previous owner and I originally had planned to stubby it, either that or get another sleeve and replace it. after a bit of research I through out both ideas after I had looked at 51mm slip ons and stumbled across these     http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/38-51mm-Motorcycle-Carbon-Fiber-Exhaust-Muffler-Pipe-Removable-Silence-DB-Killer/301933030140?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&_trksid=p5197.c100068.m2280&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140211125758%26meid%3D3b6eb918ded5408d9bf8b8f53b04e420%26pid%3D100068%26clkid%3D6401476621037234829&_qi=RTM2108002

I thought for £40 it's got too be worth an investigation and if it's any good I'd tell people about it, if it's shit id stay stum, well i'm telling you about it, so it must have gone ok  :lol

i'll stick up a piccy of the fazer before surgery....

got this when I bought the bike but it is surplus to requirements, seen they are about £90 plus brand new, so how about £45 plus postage?

Introduction / Hi from London
« on: 14 June 2016, 02:09:39 pm »
Hi there guys,
my names Chris but most people call me TOADY, A Guernsey man living just outside of London, had loads of bikes over the years, just sold my zx9r two or three weeks ago and bought myself a 98 Fazer, kind of wishing I'd found them years ago as absolutely loving it.
I've just signed up and not had chance to have a look around yet but hoping you guys and girls are full of knowledge and general helpfulness, hoping you like a bit of banter too  :)
forgot to mention the fazer is black, covered 28,000 miles and has a few sensible mods, stainless steel system, fender extender, tribo seat thingy, double bubble screen, i'll be picking your brains about how to make it better though, so be prepared. also has a rear rack that got hidden under the bed until I get around to selling it, and I need to replace the end can as the previous owner closed a garage door on it and crunched it a little.
anyway that's enough from me, I best go see what you lot have been up to.

take care

Toady  ;)
