I read that a while back, i have no issues with that as long as it works both ways, which should include totally banning pissed foreign HGV drivers from everyone's roads.

Yes it works both ways.

http://ec.europa.eu/justice/criminal/recognition-decision/financial-penalties/index_en.htm

However, this procedure is not automatic and it can be refused in particular circumstances, for example:

  • when the same person has already been judged for the same offence;
  • when the person is covered by immunity or a certain privilege making prosecution impossible; like diplomats for example
  • when the fine is for an amount lower than EUR 70.

Tony Blair was one of the best Prime Ministers the UK have had since Adam was a lad. His biggest mistake was he stayed to long.
The Labour party is unelectable with Corbyn or even without him the British public are sick of the same old socialist crap, that was why new Labour was invented.

+1 Blair was the best UK PM for the last 20 years. No wonder he won 3 elections.

Nothing wrong with Corbyn.

You mean except nobody from the general public wants to vote for him  :lol

I mean seriously he is by far too extreme.

« on: 24 April 2017, 12:54:49 am »

I thought the results were all in when I saw the post and put the tv on to then see Lepen on 23 and macron on 21 and the results not in yet

That is because you watch UK's tv. They are too busy doing interviews with Farage and  licking tory ass. The results are in.

And are exactly as posted. 23% for Macron and 21% for Le Pen reported by the French Home Office: http://elections.interieur.gouv.fr/presidentielle-2017/FE.html

If the results were the other way around surely the BBC and Daily Heil would have been reporting today with bombastic headlines for the nazis win. Now they are too quite.

Just mention both are to the next round  :z

General / speeding new rules
« on: 23 April 2017, 11:40:35 am »
Speeding new rules, do not get caught :)

Drivers caught well over the speed limit from next week face a fine amounting to 150 per cent of their weekly earnings.

Exceeding the limit by these amounts will also have further ramifications, with a ban of seven to 56 days - depending on the gravity of the offence - as well as adding six points on their licence.

Okay new challenge then. How about your bike parked up beside a Harley Davidson, this is just to take the bad look of the HD.

Lew I am guessing here you haven't read the rules do you? More specifically the rule number seven...  :lol

7. No other bikes can be used, eg, your bike next to a Ducati.

:deal Gonna need new challenge I am afraid  :evil

Nobody buying an MT10?

MT10 is 10k. You can find well sorted MT09 for 5k.

Is MT10 twice the bike MT09? Don't think so. It has more power. But MT09 is lighter and sharper.

I can do 80 mph in 2nd with MT09 if I want. I don't think I need MT10. Unless you do a lot of track days MT09 is more than enough.

General / MT09 handlebars and other recalls
« on: 22 April 2017, 12:32:51 am »
I know plenty of foccers do MT09 nowadays.

There has been a recent MT09 handlebars recall.

FYI you can check your MT09 here:

https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/services/modification-checker/index.aspx

You can get there all recall letters in pdf. Useful if yours is used like mine and you can't receive letters from Yamaha.

The nice bit is you will see there all recalls for your specific VIN.

There has been some shift and transmission issues, and headlight recalls with some VINs too.

I have Furygan Akira, it looks great, it is CE 2 level certified.

Note it is not big. I am 6 foot 110 kg and barely zip it. It's XXL the biggest size.

I  like it so much I am giving up the pies  :lol

MT 09?? Anyone buy one? Looking for some reviews from people on here... Snatchy throttle etc..

I like it so much that after I've written off one and I have a second one now  :lol

I mean seriously I love the bike. It is brilliant. The throttle is a little snatchy, but that is compared to the smooth carb Fazer. Mine is 2015 model. I believe in the 2017 model that have been fixed. Some people do ECU flash and throttle remap for the older ones. Or you can just leave it and don't bother. Even the older model has 3 modes, A is the most aggresive. Next is STD. The most relaxed is B mode. The snatchy throttle manifest itself by just bike been too much on/off in low revs 3000-4000. If you ride on bumpy road its annoying. But I just switch to B mode and snatchy trhrottle disappears. And just rev the tits out fo it. Whcih is more fun anyway. Or ride in higher gear if you want to save fuel and again there is no snatchiness.

It is very frugal bike some people report 52-55 mpg. The bike is so much fun I really doubt you can make that. On twisty roads here my mpg is 40.

The bike makes 75mph in 2nd gear and almost a ton in 3rd. That means if you ride it in twisties on 2/3 it has so much torque that you will save a fortune on brake pads no need to use brakes at all  :lol the bonus point is the howling sound that the triple engine makes is pure fun.

Also 2017 model has suspension improvements. I am fine with mine model.

So yes highly recomended bike, in fact I can't stop smiling  :D

« on: 26 October 2016, 01:22:21 am »
Similar thoughts re not taking a risk. My back protector was designed to function without a back pack - I like my back.

 :agree

And I hate top boxes mostly because I am old and mounting the bike is major PITA with a top box. Also motorway wind.

Hence I use this Jofama tail bag - it is huge 52 L. Work clothes, shoes, laptop, food boxes and still have place left in the side pockets: http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/jofama-bag.html

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Metzeler rubber ?? Handling probs ??
« on: 19 October 2016, 02:05:43 am »
I have got Metzler on my 600. Good tyres but they have a limit and slide sometimes. Although in controlled predictable way. I have changed to Michelin PR3 and the difference in cornering is huge.
