margate meltdown , bank holiday monday , 28/05/18
« on: 07 May 2018, 09:42:24 am »
Who fancys a jolly boys outing to the seaside ?...margate meltdown coming up at the end of the month , a well attended event in aid of THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION  , there is an official ride out from THE ACE CAFE but its a boring route for obvious reasons , A406 M25 A13 A2 M2 A299 , dont want to do that , was thinking of heading to box hill, surrey if anyone wants to meet up and then parhaps pick up others on route.......be an early start and a long day but if this weather holds out its going to be a cracker

Hi Red,
I'd be up for that. Would have thought the Oakdene might be a better rendezvous as you'd be in Kent to start. Could go Wateringbury,Headcorn, Charing,Canterbury,Margate. Just a thought, plenty of time to plan. Just got in from May Day Run, absolutely melting.

Evening ROBBO...yep , was thinking that aswell . Trying to get a few new faces along and thought suggesting box hill would cover a larger area and attract more people .kents not an interedting route when you live 30 due west from london  :\   too long winded to go north so has to be south , as you say early days , will dig the map out and have a look at your suggestion   :thumbup

anyone else interested , be great to see some new faces .....

Morning foccers.......just looking at the map and ROBBO's suggestion of meeting at oakdene looks good , I can aviod the M25 by picking up the A25 at dorking which will more or less take me straight to oakdene......close to jct 2A M26....
Good for ROBBO  + MR KRAZY...wrong way for DAZZA though , do you mind a few extra miles DAZZA for a 8am meet at oakdene cafe ?.....or would you rather meet somewhere more convenient ?

anyone else interested is more than welcome to tag along , route and times not set in stone yet and iam sure they will change through the coures of the day , in true FOCU style   :lol

Red,
That's fine for me. However it will be too early for Dazza due to work. When he sees your post he'll be able to suggest a rendezvous place/time no doubt.
PM for you.

Hello Red, going to do my best to get there. 8am is a bit optimistic but going to be around that ballpark.
Even if I get there at 9 after you've had a munch.
I'll try and plan my night shift so I finish earlier.
Still waiting to hear if my brother can make it but he will be in the same boat as he's working too.

Thanks Red for a brilliant day. :thumbup  A mere 182 miles for me. Stopped off at Headcorn for a beer and watched complete nutters jumping out of airplanes. The Tuono needed another fill up to get home whereas the mighty faze did the day on a tankful.
Thanks again, look forward to the next one.
