FZS600 Fazer / How to fit retrolab projectors?
« on: 10 May 2016, 08:48:27 am »
Not convinced with the realiabilty of chinky DIY equivalents I purchased the retrolab FZS 600 projector kit some weeks ago with angel eyes. The loom was out of stock when I ordered which I didn't find out until a few days after I had ordered BTW. Probably because they don't sell too well given the high price tag.

Anyway they turned up last week with one minor problem there's no fitting instructions ...starting to wish I didn't bother.

Already contacted Wouter to stress my concerns he has just directed me to the video which is all good and well but that shows nothing about wiring them to the bike.

Now what is someone like me with not the foggiest about electrics supposed to do without instructions other than pay a pretty penny to a garage for them to be fitted?

Has anyone on here got a guide for me to follow who has done this? I'm confident I can follow the video fitting the projectors to the headlight but wiring them into the bike I don't have a clue.

FZS600 Fazer / Master cylinder screws.
« on: 17 November 2015, 09:44:08 pm »
I know master cylinder screws like to round off so this time around I wish to have replacements to hand rather than fighting to get minced ones back in until I can obtain replacements.

I have never bled the Fazers brakes but from looking at the screws I think they are M4 X 20mm can anyone confirm this before I place my order?

Thanks.

FZS600 Fazer / Pads - Galfer or SBS.
« on: 13 November 2015, 03:26:33 pm »
My bike is due new pads very soon front and rear I was all set on SBS ceramic. Very impressed with the ones I fitted to the rear compared to the ones that were in they have lasted approximately 7/8 thousand miles (fitted them in April) which isn't too bad.

Front current pads I think must be OEM they seem to be taking an age to wear out the bike is now approaching 35K I got it with 23K showing in February this year and I don't believe they have ever been changed sound about right?

Anyway as I was browsing ebay I came across some galfer semi metallic street rear brake pads for £14.95 that is with a 40% saving another search found the fronts can be had for £16.95 per caliper 37% saving.

So how do galfer pads compare with SBS? I am tempted to get the SBS for the front and try the galfer ones in the rear but that would send my OCD into over drive.  :wall

FZS600 Fazer / Deep sounding exhaust?
« on: 19 August 2015, 09:55:50 pm »
Hi looking to replace the stock exhaust on my 02 box eye Fazer as it currently sounds like an industrial sewing machine.

Currently got a centre stand fitted which I don't want to lose.
