Kais shock and dog bones from a 2004 Fazer 1000 with less than 10,000 miles.
I bought the bike from a chap at work who had the shock made for his 5’6” stature but found it just too low for me so here it is for sale.It was a quality ride and has multiple adjustment for spring preload, damping and compression.
Price is £280 and includes the dogbones and mainland postage.

QBond is good for repairs to abs plastics
I’ll give it a go,thanks.Theres loads of adhesives out there but the problem is finding one that isn’t general purpose but specific to the material you need to bond. That one looks good,I tried Milliput because I had some left over from a previous repair and had good results but it was too brittle for this application. I’ve lathered the inner fairing with fibreglass and resin which has made a very strong repair but was looking for something like this Qbond to tidy up the outside and to glue the tab on the headlight.

and plastic weld/respray on fairing. Put an alert on ebay for the fairing, will save you a lot of work.
How much would a mint fairing go for on ebay?
Theres one on there now for 170 posted so I'm going to persevere with the fibreglass and rattle cans. Why,have you got one?

I keep checking,I bought a fibreglass repair kit.One of the plastic tabs on the headlight has snapped off so I’m looking for a good plastic adhesive.

Hi I’m selling my gen 1 Fazer 1000.Its a late 2004 bike in silver with just under 11000 miles,MOT until April 2019,wants for nothing. Its taxed and insured so if you want to view bring your lid and I’ll take you out for a road test.
I know the previous owner who had it from new as a pre reg so know it’s complete history. He had a Meta alarm fitted from new and had Kais suspension to suit his 5’6” height,I put the factory dogbones back on when I bought it but have the lowered ones and will re-fit them if required.
All the consumables are good, meaty tyres, brake pads have loads left and chain & sprockets are good.
It has a Givi rack and monokey top box, hugger, stainless radiator guard, crash bungs (right one is scratched),Fuel stainless end can and a Kais lowered remote reservoir shock. It will come with the original end can,the original alloy grab handles and the lowering dog bones.
It starts on the button every time, all the gears are there with no jumping and the clutch is light and positive. The engine pulls strongly from low down and right through to the crazy zone with a willful hand.
The bad bits...has had a low speed drop and has a cracked and scraped fairing and scraped bar end,not recorded. It has a dent in the tank from a lump of wood falling on it in the garage. Some of the alloy cycle parts like the alloy pillion footrest hangers have a bit of corrosion.
£1750 ovno,call John on 07 and then 871840270 thanks.

I have now received the tap, £ 7 from EBay a tapir and plug tap so not bad.The taper tap fitted straight in and turned easily no problem, the original sump bolt with copper washer is now been fitted and all seems ok no leak, so hopefully I might have got away with it.
Good stuff,I've seen on another forum someone using plumbers tape to good effect on the sump plug if the thread was a bit ballsed up.

Ta,I did wonder if they changed the diameter of the fork legs after 2003. Just had a look on Fowlers site and the price is around the same so I’ll get the qenuine ones, thanks for the heads up. Oh,and I suppose it would help posting in the correct section.

Noticed it had a Kawasaki oil filter fitted.I’ll be changing it anyway when I drop the oil but has that been doing untold damage to my engine or is it an equivalent filter?

I've got a spare pair too, just swapped the lowering DB's for the standard.Doesn't look to be a great deal of difference but it makes it loads easier to get up on the main stand.

If it's any help bought a OME fairing for my gen2 1000 the fairings are very similar I think, from Arnolds in Leicester last summer £250. It had to come from Japan as there was not the right colour in this country only took 10days to arrive you might need your vin number as there are different shades of the same colour depending on year if the gen1s are the same as gen2s hope that helps.
Thanks Steve,it all helps,I’m on a steep learning curve with my new baby.

Hi Sulls, Has she been thrown down the road or just fallen over sideways? the fairing looks like road rash. are the engine cases marked? Just looking at the photos none of it looks very serious and probably fixable without a fairing replacement, sometime they come up for sale on here when guys either break one for spares or turn the bike into a naked. Good luck with the bike @10K miles only things should be great.
Thanks, looks like a low speed slide. The right crash bung took the brunt along with the fairing and infill but the bung saved the cases.Think the bars might be a bit bent too but they seem a bit low for me anyway so will swap for some renthals with more rise.I can't believe the kind of bike you can get for the money, these fazers must be the best bang for your buck out there. There's a guy on here (Staryarm) selling a top fairing & infill panels, see wanted/for sale section although he now has them on jizzbay. The fairing is in blue but if in better condition than yours may be worth spraying correct colour rather than spending £260 (i think) on a new one plus decals, also a lot of OEM parts are out of stock & on back order so take weeks to arrive.
Thanks,I'll have a look at those.

Anyone know the cost of a fairing and infill and the best place to get them, genuine yam or eBay or even if a plastic repair is do-able on that nose cone.
