“Refit the pressure plate - it may only go on in one position - and fit the new springs. Do up the bolts to the specified torque setting.”
Visordown got lucky if that’s what they did. In fact, the pressure plate will go on in 6 positions, 4 of which are wrong and can break the base of the spring wells when the screws are tightened.
When fitting the pressure plate check for free play of the friction plates with one hand while holding the pressure plate in. If the friction plates feel loose you’ve got the pressure plate on wrong, take it off, rotate 60º and try again until the friction plates are pressed together when you press on the pressure plate.
