Hi Foccers, rather than asking the local bike shop and looking thick, i want to know what grade / type oil you lot are mainly using. Handbook not much help really. Kinda wished I asked when I bought it but you know what like just want it get on the thing and ride away Really value all replies,ta

Great thread and going to change my rear asap as it will be 10 years old by august . No cracking but poor grip in damp conditions bike still less than 6k. Tyres are Dunlop.

I think he means the part that slides inside the the fork leg (shiny bit)
A little trick I learnt for rust is to rub them with a ball of tin foil , the foil is softer than the chrome but harder than the rust , thus it removes the rust
which side of the foil? will try this on downpipes
