Done my front brakes , cleaned and made sure the pistons works , New pads hopper greased on the backs , front wheel brake discs changed for slightly used but good condition. tested works great and nice biting point …  Cleaned and re greased bolts , not bad but just tooked my time and got it right first .

Hi nice to meet you all,
I just sold my little 125 and purchased a fzs600 1999 model , I think the bike is beautiful and can't wait to ride her,

Mod1 end of the month then mod2 shortly afterwards

So all I can do atm is polish her and play with her , I changed the screen bolts for red ones and also the levers , going for a red/black theme , here's some pics, tell me what you think and any advice would greatly appreciated

No mods on the headlight as yet,  apart from the double light mod,  flushed coolant and changed oil and filter,  cleaned the k&n air filter,

What's the best light mod to do in your opinion?

Cleaned for MOT. Lost oil filler cap (don't ask), order new one, passed MOT, then discovered a very nice Puig alloy chainguard in the bargain bucket at Squires shop.
£15, but had to modify my route home to avoid motorways as it was a bit flappy on my rear rack. Result!

Steam cleaned the inside of the fuel tank and ground off the rear mount ready for welding new lower mount on. Made a set of prototype 125mm dog bones, may go to 120, main stands now redundant and side stands about 75mm short, bikes seriously tall, 33 inside leg and feet only just flat on floor without seat in place.....
Ordering some stainless round bar and four rose joints to knock up some adjustable bones.
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

Balanced carbs; easier than I thought it was going to be, and the Morgan carbtune is ace!
Wish I hadn't bothered with buying a remote fuel tank, much easier to just turn the bike's tank around!

Went over her with a torque wrench; exhaust header bolts a bit loose, as were the clamp bolts.... Funnily enough she's running much better today!

All set for a run to Arran tomorrow  :D

Changed my forks oil seals and oil as the seals started to sweat some oil.

Also gave a good cleaning on the internal parts of those forks.

This weekend was mostly spent getting my knee down ;)

Or not with them chicken strips.
Picked the bike up from my parents on way to see the misis for dinner and I kept hearing a weird banging when I went over bumps,  luckily I was 5mins from home so moaning to myself and thinking it sounded expensive I was working out how much I could afford to spare this month .. (£4.67 and half a pack of chewy)
I was very relieved to see it was just my hugger. The 2 bolts on the chain side were missing ..
I cleaned my chain last weekend so guessed maybe the chain lube helped the bolts vibrate out? They war definitely there before I set of cos I always give bike a little once over before I go out.
Put some new bolts in with a touch of loctite  should solve that problem.

Not very exciting  ... just thought I would share. Lol

I had exactly this on a long ride back from a meet up with some friends. A very close call...

Not strict speaking today, but fitted some new Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, my Givi Monorack, hooked up the TomTom and changed number plate. Now I've actually got to start riding it. :rolleyes

I've done over 700 miles since I passed my mod 2 last week and I love the fazer,  runs and rides beautifully,  still learning though and trying to get my cornering better each ride,  any tips?

Went for a wee run to check my new setup.

Right guys get your thinking caps on and help me out please....

Recently changed my chain and sprockets and I also replaced the front fork springs.

Scenarios I have now are.....

Seems to go up gears a lot quicker than it used to, think this is down to me being used to the old set up to be fair.

Also, and more importantly, I move in after an overtake the bike sorta puts me in a 'tankslapper' sort of feeling. This is pretty frightening to say the least and I'd obviously like to get it sorted ASAP.

Any advice?

Does the new chain and sprockets have the same amount of teeth as the old ones?

Yes mate they are, as I didn't want to change the setup from original.

Sounds like your running the rear to low. Try increasing  the rear  to 12mm static sag or about 39 -39mm laden static sag

I tried it about half way round on the settings at top of shock and also on tbe top notch bit still the same problem.

The rear shock is due to get the spring replaced but I've not got the spring compression tool yet.

If it's the standard shock, wind it up full
