« on: 05 August 2015, 03:33:07 pm »
Been a while since I updated this! Have been hectic the last few month with work and the like and have totally forget about my beloved Fazer. Have had no time to ride, maintain or enjoy the ownership :(

Think he's going up for sale soon...

I can't remember exactly but i know it involved a lot of bloody swearing. I think i ended up having to set both cams to "1 o'clock", wound the crank a couple of times and the were spot on. Its all about getting rid of that slack in the middle though first before winding.

Where abouts are you based chap?

I had this problem. What you'll find is that because of the slack in the middle of the two cams, when you wind the crank round one/or both or the cams will go out of time. Took me bloody yonks!

You have to replace the caliper hanger too. But other than that its a bolt off bolt on job.

How much of a pain is that to fit to a fazer. Or is it a straight swap, aside from the brake hose.

So, the winter has come and gone and today I thought I'd start giving the bike some love. Bought a set of HEL lines and new pads to go on and decided to have a bash at fitting them. Me and my trusty haynes manual were good to go.

Safe to say, things didn't go well. Set about doing the rear brake first. Now I should mention the rear brake has always been 'questionable' and to get it through the MOT a fair old amount of force had to be applied (imagine an 18st guy bouncing on the pedal). I'm no mechanical expert but I know when something is focced.

Pretty sure theres meant to be a rubber seal somewhere and that the pistons are meant to move with a bit of a push? Alas, there is neither. Well, theres bits of a seal...

So, focced?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: full throttle bogging down a bit
« on: 27 February 2015, 07:52:10 am »
I'd be inclined to check the plug caps. I had the same issue with mine, where at full chat about mid way through the rev range it would feel as if I'd hit a puddle of treacle. Ease off the throttle to about 3/4 and is fine. Changed the plug caps to some NGK SD05F and the problem is gone. Very happy me  :rollin
