General / an unfortunate incident.
« on: 22 June 2016, 10:18:59 am »

yesterday I had an unfortunate incident.
I was approaching a mini roundabout as I wait to  go straight a head.
a car on the left cross in front of me(nothing wrong in that) but he stopped right in my track I couldn't avoid him so clipped his rear bumper.
just scuff marks on his bumper and my crash bare dented in by about 10mm.
I was traveling at about 15mph so we didn't come off.
this was in whitby and I was going towards the train station a popular bikers cafe.
who would you say is at fault.
personally I think it was 50/50 but the bloke was adamant that it was mine.
I said you blocked my right of way and if you couldn't make it all the way then you shouldn't of crossed.

General / EU!

GOT THIS OFF FACEBOOK.....

Pete Giles

OK,.. here's a short list of financial and industrial FUBARs from the EU then,.. (it was longer, much longer, but really tough reading)
Cadbury moved production of several brands to a factory in Poland 2011 with EU grant. Despite promising the workforce they would not.
Ford Transit moved to Turkey 2013 with EU grant.
Jaguar Land Rover has recently agreed to build a new plant in Slovakia with EU grant, owned by Tata, the same company who have trashed our steel works and emptied the workers pension funds. They have not yet said what UK plants will lose out.
Peugeot closed its Ryton (was Rootes Group) plant and moved production to Slovakia with EU grant. That move was not wanted by Peugeot, it was forced on them by EU blundering and cost then dearly.
British Army's new Ajax fighting vehicles to be built in Spain using Swedish steel at the request of the EU to support jobs in Spain with EU grant, rather than Wales. (Just assembly)
Dyson gone to Malaysia, with an EU loan. (I didn't believe this till I checked Financial Times)
Crown Closures, Bournemouth (Was METAL BOX), gone to Poland with EU grant, once employed 1,200.
M&S manufacturing gone to far east with EU loan.
Hornby models gone. In fact all toys and models now gone from UK along with the patents all with with EU grants.
Gillette gone to eastern Europe with EU grant.
Texas Instruments Greenock gone to Germany with EU grant.
Indesit at Bodelwyddan Wales gone with EU grant.
Sekisui Alveo said production at its Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Park foam plant will relocate production to Roermond in the Netherlands, with EU funding.
Hoover Merthyr factory moved out of UK to Czech Republic and the Far East by Italian company Candy with EU backing.
ICI integration into Holland’s AkzoNobel with EU bank loan and within days of the merger, several factories in the UK, were closed, eliminating 3,500 jobs
Boots sold to Italians Stefano Pessina who have based their HQ in Switzerland to avoid tax to the tune of £80 million a year, using an EU loan for the purchase. (Now sold on again)
JDS Uniphase run by two Dutch men, bought up companies in the UK with £20 million in EU 'regeneration' grants, created a pollution nightmare and just closed it all down leaving 1,200 out of work and an environmental clean-up paid for by the UK tax-payer. They also raided the pension fund and drained it dry. (Joint CEOs charged with financial trading fraud, insider trading)
UK airports are owned by a Spanish company.
Scottish Power is owned by a Spanish company.
Most London buses are run by Spanish and German companies.
The Hinkley Point C nuclear power station to be built by French company EDF, part owned by the French government, using cheap Chinese steel that has catastrophically failed in other nuclear installations. Now EDF say the costs will be double or more and it will be very late even if it does come online.
Swindon was once our producer of rail locomotives and rolling stock. Not any more, it's Bombardier in Derby and due to their losses in the aviation market, that could see the end of the British railways manufacturing altogether even though Bombardier had EU grants to keep Derby going which they diverted to their loss-making aviation side in Canada. New trains contract awarded to German company.
39% of British invention patents have been passed to foreign companies, many of them in the EU
The Mini cars that Cameron stood in front of as an example of British engineering, are built by BMW mostly in Holland and Austria and those parts assembled in the UK. His campaign bus was made in Germany even though we have Plaxton, Optare, Bluebird, Dennis etc., in the UK. The bicycle for the Greens was made in the far east, not by Raleigh UK but then they are probably going to move to the Netherlands too as they have said recently.
Anyone who thinks the EU is good for British industry or any other business simply hasn't paid attention to what has been systematically asset-stripped from the UK. Name me one major technology company still running in the UK, I used to contract out to many, then the work just dried up as they were sold off to companies from France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, etc., and now we don't even teach electronic technology for technicians any more, due to EU regulations.
Yes some companies are in the UK with EU funding, but have you noticed that many, like Tata, are planning to shift the production away again, as soon as they will not have to pay a penalty to the EU for doing so. Hundreds already did, just using British skills to develop products and then opt for lower labour costs, often with a serious loss in quality too like Bosch alternators. Many employ staff only on a part-time basis, minimum wage and even those sent by DWP to work for nothing, those get just their benefits.
I haven't detailed our non-existent fishing industry the EU paid to destroy, nor the farmers being paid NOT to produce food they could sell for more than they get paid to do nothing, don't even go there.
I haven't mentioned what it costs us to be asset-stripped like this, nor have I mentioned immigration, nor the risk to our security if control of our armed forces is passed to Brussels or Germany.
The way companies abuse the EU commercial assistance system is not doing the EU, Britain or any other country any favours. It has massive loopholes that are simply exploited and no-one in Brussels has the wit nor sense to change it. Change in the EU is slow at best and in most cases, next to impossible due to the intense lobbying by companies with a vested interest in abusing this very broken system. I know Margaret Thatcher was not many people's favourite person, but she did get a number of measures agreed that have now been completely eroded and sadly, by her own party. Mr Junker has said that any more 'special status' for Britain will be difficult and will face legal challenges. In other words, we will not get most of them, if any.
If the EU may break up in the event of Britain voting to leave as suggested by both leaders of the Bundesbank and European Central Bank, then in all honesty, we have as a nation been propping up a failed system for too long, It will probably fail anyway, taking anyone still 'in' with it. Thus, this vote you have is not exactly 'remain' or 'leave', it is more an issue of jumping off the sinking ship while we have a chance to swim ashore now, or waiting till it is in really deep water and going down with it.
Find something that's gone the other way, I've looked and I just can't. If you think the EU is a good idea,
1/ You haven't read the party manifesto of The European Peoples' Party.
2/ You haven't had to deal with EU petty bureaucracy tearing your business down.
3/ You don't think it matters.

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / do you agree??
« on: 21 November 2015, 04:36:56 pm »
I definitely do.

Nigel Farage UKIP This is what he said:
I am a White, Tax-Paying, God fearing English man. I am a hard working Brit and I work long hours to
earn a living.

I believe in God and the freedom of religion, But I don't push it on others.
I believe in British products and buy them whenever I can.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and not to some governmental functionary, To share with others who don't work!
I think owning a home doesn't make you a capitalist; It makes you a smart Brit.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized,
And does not entitle you to anything. Get over it. Join in with the majority!
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, You should do it in English. I believe there should be no other language option.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God When and where they want to.
My heroes are fellow Brits like Freddy Flintoff And Winston Churchill And I know I've missed a few thousand!!!!!
I don't hate the rich. What I hate is the way they always manage to avoid paying proper taxes. I don't pity the poor, I just hate the way
they are always moaning that they are hard done by!!
I know wrestling is fake And I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.
I believe if you don't like the way things are here, Go back to where you came from And change your own country!
This is ENGLAND .....
We like it the way it is and even more so the way it was So stop trying to change it to look like some other socialist country!
If you were born or legally migrated here And don't like it... You are free to move To any Socialist country that will have you. I believe it
is time to really clean house, Starting with the House of Commons, The seat of our biggest problems.
I want to know where the "Do Gooders" get their money from, And why are they always part of the problem and not the solution? Can I get an AMEN
on that one?
I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, Regardless of what race, colour or creed you are.
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my driving licence. I think it's good....
I dislike those people trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. Get a job and support yourself and your family!
I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think!
I believe the Union Jack flag should be allowed to be flown Anywhere in the United Kingdom
If this makes me a BAD Brit, Then yes, I'm a BAD Brit. If you are a BAD Brit too, Please forward this to everyone you know....
We want our country back! My Country.....
I hope this offends all illegal aliens.
My great, great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Boer War. My grandfather watched and bled as his friends died in World Wars
1&2. I watched as my friends died in Sierra Leone Bosnia, & Desert Storm. Our sons and daughters watched & bled as their friends Died
in Afghanistan and Iraq . None of them died for the Afghanistan and Iraq Flag. Every Briton died for the British flag.
At one high school, Foreign students raised a Middle East flag on a school flag pole. British students took it down. Guess who was
expelled. The students who took it down .
West London high school students were sent home, Because they wore T-shirts with the Union Jack flag printed on them.
What is going on?? What idiots do we have in authority?? Enough is enough.
This message needs to be viewed by every Brit; And every Briton needs to stand up for Britain . We've bent over to appease the Brit-haters
long enough. I'm taking a stand.
I'm standing up because of the millions Who died fighting in wars for this country,
And for the British flag.
And shame on anyone who tries to Make this a racist message. IT IS NOT ! Britons, stop giving away Your RIGHTS !
THIS IS OUR COUNTRY !
This statement DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration !
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY, Welcome to come legally:
1. Get a sponsor !
2. Learn the LANGUAGE, as immigrants have in the past!
3. Live by OUR rules ! Dress as we Britons Do
4. Get a job !
5. Pay YOUR Taxes !
6. No Social Security until you have earned it and paid for it !
7. Find a place to lay your head !
If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone, then
YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !
We've gone so far the other way. bent over backwards not to offend anyone.
WAKE UP BRITAIN ! ! !

General / sneaky speed scamra's.
« on: 18 June 2015, 08:14:57 pm »
coming home on the A170 from scarborough .
I notice a grey coloured camper van on the left at the top of the bank on your left just outside of burniston village.
didn't think much of it ..just thought a strange place to park up.
about 2 or 3 miles further up another camper van of the same colour(grey) with the back facing the oncoming traffic.
I immediately thought the crafty bastard.
stopped at the whistle stop cafe in whitby.
talked to a guy who said that scarborough police hire these at £500 a week hire to use for speed cameras.
he got caught coming from Helmsley road ,no warning sign's or stripes etc.
it seems that they are doing the same as combria's police were doing but with new camper vans, cumbria police were using  old vans disguise as work vans.
so beware guys when your heading to scarborough.

General / how would you respond??
« on: 22 August 2013, 06:00:42 pm »

sold him a back rest with mini rack attached.
it wouldn't fit his bike without removing the grab rail.so I said OK I'll send you a replacement.and now he's complaining of a tear in his back rest pad to which he received undamaged
he used it for his hols with his girl friend and now he says it is ripped claiming that I should replace it.
I said I'm not possible for damage how ever caused by you.
also I said that these b/rest etc are sold as cheap as possible and the pad is for you back to rest on and not for you to pull or what ever.
these are cheap pads source from Vietnam and this how I can keep my price so low.
you only have to look at custom bikes price's these sell for a lot more than £130 and this inc shipping costing £37.20.
my profit margin is low and I have to pay full price like every one else have to.
so pad is cheap, I can send you one together with the replacement rack at your cost .
if you want to do that I'll only charge what it cost me and that is £8.97.
and this was his reply...
So you're telling me that you use a cheap *** pad made by a 6 year old in Vietnam, the tear is perfectly along the sharp metal pad, but it is my hand that made a percision cut in the material on the same line as the metal plate? Are you F'ing kidding me??!! It's a cheap *** pad. I got one of the defective ones, and you need to replace it.
bare in mind he got it in good condition and used it during his hols for a week got home and some how a tear has appeared.
I would like to reply in a civil manner  but I'm not to sure how to reply in this instance.
so any of you guys has a gift of being eloquent with words then please go a head.

oh and he paid by p/pal 70 days ago I'm correct in  thinking that he is out of time to file a dispute??
from what I can gather on p/pal he has 45 days in which to file a dispute. john

« on: 06 February 2013, 07:15:53 pm »
the FZ8 doesn't appear to be very popular judging by amount written in here.
or else where for that matter.
do you guys think that Yamaha  made a mistake discontinuing the Fazer 600.
got to admit the Fazer600 from 02/03 were the best.
sure they could of  use the same engine with fuel injectors instead of using the R6.
I like the look of the FZ8 but its a bit thirsty and a short range.
the xj600 doesn't seem a lot going for it in comparison.
so what is your opinion.

« on: 08 May 2012, 06:01:08 pm »
I was out on my bike and came across coppers and ambulance near Filingdale,
I notice a Fazer 1000 on its side,a grey coloured one.
don't know what had happened as the was no car's involve.
it appears to me he was either doing a wheely going up the bank or simply going to fast and lost control.
it amazes me after a winter lay off.
they seem to think they can just jump on the bike and carry on where they left off biking last year.I always take it easy for a couple of rides out and familiarise with my bike.
anyway I hope the guy is ok.
