Right, finally got my parts back today and took some pics while it was still at the painters. I'll get some more done at the weekend when I've put it all back together.
Went for Plum Crazy in the end which is a Dodge colour.

Was a ballache to refit as the teeth on the gears were a pain to line up then I had to coax it in with a hammer. After all that I took the gasket out and it turned out to be the wrong one, my fault I didn't check when I ordered so just sorted one out now and should be here by Thurs/Fri.
The Athena gasket i got is rubbish, id get a genuine one if i have the cover off again.
Gasket arrived today and now fitted, an original Yamaha one for approx £10

Just ordered from Moto-electrical as they have a 10% off voucher at the mo so I got a new rotor and gasket including delivery for £207...not bad eh

I have a 2007 model and just taken mine off to check and I have the original one in, was hoping the previous owner had changed it but no luck. It looks perfectly fine but not sure if I want to risk putting it back in for the sake of a couple of hundred quid. I think I'll be ordering a new one but I'm not paying Yamaha prices of over £600  . I'm going to go with the cheaper one at £220.

Did you try and remove the radiator cap to see if the coolant was actually boiling?
Sounds like your bike runs hot generally, min sits between 78 and 85 on every ride unless I'm sat in traffic
Same here and the fan kicks in around 100.

I'm contemplating changing the colour of my gen 2 but undecided as to what to change to. Has anyone got any ideas as to what they would do if they could? Current colour is Teal green, not a great one I know, but the rest of it looks good. Looking to paint the tank and the rear fairing and possibly the new belly pan.
I quite fancy a darkish metallic or pearl but there's so much choice!!!

Been out on the bike a few times in the last few days and have noticed that I can only do about 40-50 miles or so before it starts to feel a little bit uncomfortable on the seat, has anyone else had this? I pull over and have to stand and walk around for 5 mins or so before I get back on, seems strange too as I have got a comfort seat...don't know...maybe it's just me getting old
