Your Suggestions and How you can help / Ban on racist postings

I'm enjoying the site and the forums...but not the anti-muslim posts. Only a tiny percentage of Muslims support terrorism....and they would have the same proportion of rapists as we, or any other community, have.

« on: 12 June 2019, 06:42:58 pm »
Lads...forget photobucket or wotever...
just make your pics the right size / format and post them "Inline"..
pic files are big and many websites/hosting services strip out files over a certain size...
yer modern mobile phone produces a pic of around 3mb...or about 3000 pixels wide, much bigger than u need for screen use...
computer screens work at a resolution of around 100pixels per inch...so a pic of 1000pixels wide will appear to be 10 inches wide on screen. Downsize ur pic to say 800pixels wide and it should be fine to upload...also screens are RGB, other colour modes may not work, so the pic should be RGB also..but this is the default for most cameras/fones anyway...
There are many pic formats that will work onscreen, so use .jpg format, its the most commonly used and again is the default on most DEVICES....
I use Photoshop for work, so I use that for sizing pics...if u don't have Photoshop I'm sure there are other free apps that will do...maybe there is software that comes with WINDOWS...I don't know cos I'm Mac...some Foccer will tell me tho... :D

THANKS
mystery solved...... 8)

Altho 3 of Clive's blanks seem to have holes thru them.....?? :eek

FOR CLARITY can JAMIEG285 confirm that there are only two jets in the carb...the pilot and the needle one...and that the needle jet is the "Main jet"...?

it seems that in some parts diagrams u have a needle jet AND a main jet..the blank???

This for UNFAZED...
the switch is definitely working. The two wires from the connector (black and blue/yellow) disappear into the loom.
I see under the seat someone has opened the loom, there is a lump of taped off wiring...and two red/blue wires going to a 10amp fuse labelled PARK.
I,m inclined to leave all as is...sidestand switch not operating is not too important,,,, :(

The needle jet is the main jet...the other one doesn't do anything...? ;)

Yes...good question.
Each carb has three "jets"...the small pilot one, the large needlle one, and a third one which in my case all four appeared to have no hole through...so they are just blanks...?
mine is 2001.. I assumed these unused jets were "blanks", that might have been used on different model bikes....?
no doubt some foccer will enlighten us :eek

the neutral light behaves normally. ...so i don't think the problem is there..

Fair focs to 74eldiablo for a splendid job on his STREETFAZER.... :D https://imgur.com/gallery/uCI4kcafor the less talented foccer, his idea of fixing two cheap Chinese spotlights to the upper rad trim bolt is a doozy... easy to do and transforms the bike at night, ie. u can actually see where ur going. His black ones look better than my silver ones, but i cuddent be arsed spraying them.

:evil 2pcs 125W U5 Motorcycle LED Headlight Driving Fog Spot Light Lamp with Switch :evil

..they come with a switch or u can wire them into the dipped headlight...al for less than £15...! [/font]

Cool...
actually I bought the same spotlights but in silver...and bolted them to the crash bars. Theyr'e good lights but too low ..and they look real cheap..it never occured to me to fix to the upper bolt of the rad trim...I think I will do that...and spray the housing black :rollin

Well done...looks very smart..
Where did u get the little spotlights...?
I think blue paint on the wheels would look cheap, the gold looks great with the blue spot brakes.... that's enough...!! :)

Yes i understand wot u explained...I tested the switch with the Ohm meter on the switch side of the connector..working.
I tested the voltage on the other side of the connector..one side runs to earth, the other dosn't...so with the switch closed both run to earth..as intended, presumably...if u see wot I mean...
it seems like the switch is working and is opening / closing an earth circuit...but nothing is happening..!

« on: 08 June 2019, 04:07:39 pm »
Thanks Dude
I did the continuity test and the switch is working.
on the supply side one wire gives me 12v, the other nothing, so when the switch is closed both would read 12v...
so all seem OK, just that the bike starts up and runs regardless of whether the sidestand is up or down :(

Of course I'm getting 12volts because I'm using the positive terminal of the battery, and connecting the black probe of the meter to the feed to the switch. One side 12v, the other 0v...so when the switch is closed both will be the same....?

Hi
Thanks for informations...
I checked the switch with Ohm meter and its working correctly...
I'm only getting 4.8 volts at the two wires feeding into the switch..and the bike starts up and drives off whether the sidestand is up or down... :\
is the voltage stepped down and connected to a relay...or is there summat fishy here...?

OR hold on...is the Ground switched...not the (+)...?

OK so yes the (-) is switched, not the(+).....so the switch is working but it just doesn't do anything...?!

Hi Foccing electrical experts
my sidestand switch never worked...and i've often taken off with it down, without any major mishaps  ...yet.
I decided to have a look at it...switch itself looks OK, When I checked the (blue) connector under the seat I'm getting 0.6 volts....is this normal...?

ERK,,,, just realised that the two wires to the switch are not (+) and (-),,,must check them again...tomoro,,,using battery earth :rolleyes

« on: 06 June 2019, 11:36:42 pm »
Yes...cleaning carbs (or removing them) is not as difficult as it looks...But if u split the carbs, (like I did) u will have to balance them as well as cleaning...probably not a bad idea to do anyway...
I'm making a MONOMETER to do the job...just waiting for a few bits from ebay...can't wait to try it...and see if that finally clears up all carb issues...
