The grass has been growing because of all the wet mild weather in the SW this winter. Besides, before that, the last mowing was October 2017.

Paddy is suffering from constipation so he sees his doctor.
The doctor gives him a suppository and tells him to put it in his back passage.
A week later Paddy goes back to the doctor who asked him if he has followed his instructions.
Paddy replies,
"I don’t have a back passage in my house so I put it in the hall, but I might as well have stuck it up my arse for all the good it did."

Today has been one of those days when everything turned to dust.
One of the incidents was when I tried to mow the lawn. The mower fired up but the whole cord came away in my hand. But I did manage to mow the lawn in one go by keeping my hand on the throttle bar. It was a bit bit difficult around the twiddly bits but I made it.
So I strip the mower only to find that the starter mechanism is held on by four incredibly small hex bolts which none of my allen keys would fit. What an idiotic design I thought.
Anyway, after a day of further disasters I got home and checked YouTube on how to change lawnmower pull cords. It turns out the allen bolts are just rivets and it is necessary to remove a whole load of cowling, fuel tank, dipstick housing, and throttle cable support to get to the pull start mechanism. What an idiotic design I thought.
The original B&S pull cord lasted years but an aftermarket pull cord put on by a mower service shop only lasted three years and looked more like one of the Mrs pajama pull cords.
So on to Google- just the job B&S pull cord £4 but what is this PP £12.50 P/P (it came from the US)
Similar thing from Amazon but they only wanted around £3 P/P
After further searching, at last a company with the genuine cord for £4 and their T&Cs say free postage for orders under 25kg weight- at last. I hit the buy button and was presented with a bill. Sure enough no postage so I hit the pay button. Then I was asked to log in or register.
Reluctantly, I registered: name, address, mobile phone number, do you want to buy an eastern child bride for £20 deposit, would you like special delivery, would you like to take out insurance on the product... and on and on.
Finally I got back to the buy button. Would you believe it: now the bill had £7 P/P.
So that's what pees me off- companies that don't show P/P up front.

Yeah, that's right.
Some retailers have clip on the till where they put your note until they have given you the change, which I think is a great idea.

Why is it that when small shops short-change you it's always in their favour?.
My local takeaway swindled me again last night.
First they tried to give me a £5 instead of a £10, then I found I was a £1 short in the coins.
A couple of months ago they spent 10 minutes interrogating me as to whether or not I'd paid, even though it was the same person that took my order and money at the start!.
Foc 'em, I'll go to McDonalds next time where they know good customer service.
Yeah, that gets me too.  Unfortunately it is endemic even in big organisations. Sometimes it's a genuine error and other times it is intentional, and as you say, it is odd that the error is always in their favour. A really blatant case for me was last year at a bike meet. In a well know coffee chain the girl tried to give change for a £10 note rather than a £20 note. It is best if you can pay with the exact value, but that means carrying around a load of notes and change, or pay by card. Of course, when you have had a few pints of Butcombe it is not so easy to keep a check on things.

Oil is so critical to the functioning of your engine, gearbox, and clutch, especially in a highly stressed, high-speed, precision modern motorcycle, so always get the best oil and change it as often as is practical. This means fully synthetic, and I would not like to prove this, but Mobile One. Just my two pence worth.

Still sitting in diesel now, its been heated to glowing, been in the freezer, been in the vice, soon to be on the table as an ornament.
But I will give it another couple of years first

UPDATE: No longer needed, R1 donor EXUP has rescued me! 🙌🏻
Good news. Even if you managed to free up the original EXUP valve, there is a chance that there would be a lot of play in the bearing by the time it is all cleaned up.

So looks like my EXUP valve is completely seized solid in the housing so I'm looking to get hold of another one, preferably that actually comes apart! Thanks
Just wondering: have you tried freeing up your existing EXUP assembly? Heat it up and stick it in some penetrating fluid: WD40, paraffin + oil, diesel, etc. Might take a while but with a bit of persistence you may get it free. In case it's any help, here is a link to a FSZ1000 EXUP strip-down and service: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/fazer1000/exup-valve-maintenance-t1524.html If you do manage to get it apart, remember to check the EXUP valve for straightness. If you need to straighten the EXUP valve, be careful, they can be brittle.

Finally got my girl back last week after she was pushed over and damaged down the right hand side so today has been filled with wash and a full treatment of acf 50....she looks mint!
The Fizzy 600, both box & fox eye, simply have nice proportions to me, and that is a particularly nice example.
How come it was pushed over?
What seat is that?
Yeah she was pushed over by a Down Syndrome lad, he was walking through my works car park with his carer and he just pushed it over. I was gutted and after over a month messing with insurance (his not mine) It was finally repaired last week. The seat as with all the mods were done by the previous owner, you can tell its been a much loved bike and that will certainly continue with my ownership :-)

 Mrs stet & I were sitting on the settee: there was a thud and the whole house seemed to move about three inches. At first we thought it was caused by the next-door neighbours who have been been making a racket all day moving house. Then we thought the washing machine had thrown a rod (it's been making some alarming noises for some time) and it was only thirty minutes later we learned about the earthquake.
