For Sale & Wanted / Wanted: GSXR J K L M era clock bracket please.
« on: 04 August 2015, 09:49:28 pm »
Hi foccers. As the title suggests I'm after a GSXR 750 clock mounting bracket that fixes to the rear of the speedo and tacho and has the fitting for the square set of idiot lights (those who have one will know what I mean).
I think that the 750 J K L and M models all had the same bracket and maybe even the 1100's.

This is required pretty urgently so if anyone has one lying around please send me a PM.

Regards

As the title suggests I have a Dainese Ice Sheet Goretex Jacket for sale.

It's an EU size 54 so is a UK 44 chest.

I have worn it about a dozen times and it has been washed prior to the sale and is practically mint.

It cost over £300 new so I am looking for £150.

It is an extremely warm winter jacket with a removable lining for milder days.

Postage will be free within the UK.

I will try to upload some photos but if you are interested you can Google search it. I think Dainese do this jacket in various colours but mine is black with the grey stripe down the sleeve.

Please send a PM if interested.

« on: 18 March 2015, 05:22:59 pm »
As the title suggests. Looking for a later black engined bike if possible. Must be as mint as possible with low mileage. I know, not much to ask is it. Just an idea I'm toying with but show me WYG and who knows ??? or would a also consider a mint pre VTEC VFR 800 for the right price.

Please satisfy my request and stop me buying from an inferior manfacturer

I have for sale my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I have had it since new and it has been in a protective case with a screen protector on it also since new. It just has a few minute marks on the chrome edging which would never show up on a photograph. It's a 16gb model in marble white. A micro SD card can be added to increase the memory. All functions work as they should including the barely used S Pen.

It's currently on a Vodafone Network so would need unlocking for other networks.

Comes complete in its original box with user guide, charger, unused headphones and a spare screen protector. You can also have the leather protective case which has done it's job well and has plenty of life left in it still.

I am only selling as I have upgraded to the Note 4.

Looking for £140 posted. Looking on Ebay it would appear that non functioning and damaged ones are selling for £100.

Just send a PM if interested.

For Sale & Wanted / FOR SALE: Yamaha FZS600 1998
« on: 23 September 2014, 03:16:21 am »
I am reluctantly having to sell my lovely Yamaha Fazer 600.

Its a 1998 R registered bike with 17,000 on the clock. It has just had a fresh MOT and is ready to go.

I have owned it for 2 years and it has given me great pleasure. Since I have owned it I have given it a top to bottom freshen up with 2 x oil and filter changes, a new fuel filter a new air filter (all parts genuine Yamaha), a new clutch cable, new chainguard, a new set of Conti RA2 tyres, Venhill brakelines front and rear (not pictured), an SP Racing exhaust (original included), flushed and replenished coolant, fitted a stainless rad guard,  stripped front and rear brake calipers and replaced the pads and replaced various tarnished fastners (all original Yamaha).I also removed the engine casings and had them powdercoated which I then refitted with new gaskets and I replaced the chain with a Gold DID uprated chain. I am positive there are other things I have also done but my mind escapes me. I have a new upgraded front sprocket nut and 'tab washer' set that will also be included.

She is in excellent cosmetic condition for a 16 year old bike and rides as she should. Being totally honest she has a couple of scuffs on the wingmirrors and there is a bit of engine paint flake in the area of the header pipes so it can't really be seen unless you are on your hands and knees. Oh yes, I also removed the header pipes and had them blasted and painted with HT paint. They were in excellent, solid condition and have never been welded or bodged so it would have been rude not to re use them. They were refitted with a new gasket set.

She comes fitted with a Spyball alarm with 2 x keys and keyfobs and is registered to me. I therefore have the V5 and all the old MOT's and service pack inclusive of the service history.

I will also include a 25mm 'jack up' kit which I did have fitted but reverted back to the original dogbones a few months ago.

The bike is located in Coalville in Leicestershire and I am looking for £1350 due to the mileage and condition. I will not be giving her away and have enjoyed every minute of owning her. This is a very reluctant sale but I think you will be hard pushed to find a nicer, cleaner example. I always clean her after every ride and use top quality cleaning products and ACF50 to keep her looking her best.

If you have any questions just send me a PM and I will respond as soon as I can.

Pictures to follow.

General / Modifications Section
« on: 08 April 2014, 12:37:32 am »
Is there a section on this site where we can go for tech info about modifications folk have done to their Fazers ? If there is, I can't seem to find it.

It would be good to have a section where we can go to source info on common modifications like the R6 (or other) shock mods and R1 (or other) front end conversions with the relevant parts listed so its easier to source the correct model year parts and work involved for those thinking about performing such a modification.

I know there is a sticky in the Gen 1 section regarding the R6 shock mod but it would be nice to have all the info in one place.

Any info regarding any modification would be worthy of note from which brakepads work best through to different wheels, seats, handlebars etc etc.

Modifications regarding any model in the Fazer family should be welcomed. That way it would save using the useless 'search' function. I personally can never seem to find the info I am after using this method. However, I am particularly useless with computers.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Previous FZS600 Owners
« on: 17 March 2014, 09:18:58 am »
Hi folks. Has anyone on here moved over to an FZ8 from an FZS600 ?

If so, was it worth it ?

I'm toying with the idea of this being a potential contender when the time/money/mrs allows.

I'm basically after the practicality and comfort of the FZS with a little bit more umphh, smoothness and distance capabilities and find the FZS a little tiresome on longer runs like 200 miles or more.

Am I barking up the wrong tree or is it a viable alternative ?

Regards in advance  :)

For Sale & Wanted / Ebay Item - Gen 1 Bellypan
« on: 05 March 2014, 07:55:46 pm »
For those that are interested in a 'Yamaha' looky likey Gen 1 Bellypan, I saw this whilst having a browse. Item number: 141212428476

This item/seller is in no way connected to me but I thought it might be of some use and is so much cheaper than the genuine Yammy one (if you can even still get them).

FZS600 Fazer / Rear Shock (Again)
« on: 02 March 2014, 06:56:14 pm »
Yes I know there have been numerous threads about different rear shock absorbers on the boxeye and I have used the search function but I have decided to post another anyways.

What have people got fitted ?

By checking Ebay I have found, 'Hagon' , 'Nitron', 'YSS', 'Wilbers' , 'Ohlins' and 'Hyperpro'.

The Ohlins is out of the question due to price. The rest of them can be had for between £300 - £370 which is still too expensive but at some point I need to bite the bullet. I am also aware that modifying a Gen1 1000 shock is possible but I don't intend to go down this route or infact modifying anything to fit.

By using the search function it would seem that the Nitron has respectful reviews but I don't want a turquoise spring and a black spring is a futher £10.

Side Issue: Why did they decide on turquoise being their default spring colour ? What bike does this actually suit ?

I am leaning towards the Hyperpro but just wanted to see what you guys think first  :)

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Gen 1 leaky rear master cylinder
« on: 08 February 2014, 11:31:00 pm »
I am currently in the process of giving my Gen 1 a deep clean and a bit of a service etc. I fitted a rear 'Venhill' brake line to it today, as I did the fronts a few days ago, and then set about the arduous task of bleeding her up. I managed to get nice fresh, bubble free fluid from both bleed nipples on the rear calliper but I still wasn't happy with the lever pressure. There was too much travel in the lever before the real pressure started.

After about an hour of pumping the pedal and bleeding at the calliper end I gave up. I inspected for leaks and saw a slight misting of fluid around the base of the rubber boot that sits at the bottom of the rear master cylinder (the bit where you adjust the lever height). Its not dripping out and you really have to push your finger into the underside of the boot to get a minute amount of it on your digit, however, i'm guessing its new master cylinder repair kit time ?

I just wanted to know before shelling out the £56 that AJ Suttons have the repair kit listed for  :'(

I can't really say what the lever pressure was like before I fitted the new brake line and bled it, as I haven't ridden the bike for a while due to using my boxeye for most of last year. It was fine when I last used it obviously. The Gen 1 has only done 10,000 miles so I am a bit surprised that a 'Brembo' part has failed within this mileage.

Has anyone else had similar issues at this mileage and am I right in thinking a repair kit is required ?

Thanks in advance.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Picture of ignition key needed please.
« on: 23 September 2013, 05:19:22 pm »
Hi foccers. Can anyone post me up a picture of a genuine Gen 1 FZS1000 ignition key please. I have only ever had one key with my bike and as its got a Meta 357T alarm fitted with the remote on the head of the key I don't actually know what design the head of the key is  :\  The reason for this is that I would like to have a spare key but Fowlers have stated that Yamaha don't list a blank key for the Gen 1. I therefore need to search the tinternet for one but want to know what design the head of the key is to allow me to get a looky likey  :)
Wow, that was long winded.

FZS600 Fazer / Removing generator cover
« on: 11 September 2013, 02:02:56 pm »
I know there are 5 bolts holding the generator cover on but I have removed them and it still wont budge. Do I have to remove the screw towards the top right of the cover aswell ? Once undone, can the cover just be pulled off or does the generator come off with it ? I only want to take it off to repaint it. Is this more hassle than its worth. I cant seem to find a definitive in the Haynes manual download  :(

Hi Folks. I am desperately in need of the IXO model of Valentino Rossi's 2005 blue Subaru Ipreza in 1:43 scale. Must be mint in the box. I search Ebay all the time for this particular model so imagine my dismay when i learnt that one had sold for £7.16p back in February because my search didn't contain the right 'buzz' words  :'(

The model number is RAM222. If you have the odd Rossi Rally Car and want to make someone very happy by making their collection complete, then please send me a PM and we will sort out a price  ;)

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Couple of Fazer Questions
« on: 19 February 2013, 01:34:13 pm »
I was giving my FZS1000 its winter deep clean and noticed a couple of things so was just wondering !!! its a Gen 1 2002 model by the way.

Questions are 1) Should the rear brake caliper have a protective dust cover on its underside that stops all the crap getting up into the caliper ? I have had numerous bikes before that have had one.

2) On the inside of the rear footrest hangers there is a threaded bolt hole which looks to have had something fitted to them at some point as there is a 'bolt head' mark where i presume something once resided. What was it that was fitted or am i misreading something. It looks like an ideal place for some bungee hooks or something similar but mine obviously doesn't have anything and its just a threaded hole ?

Regards in advance  ;)
