For Sale & Wanted / boxeye fairing
« on: 21 July 2018, 10:35:04 am »
Had these in the garage for a few years now , hard to store without getting damaged which would be a shame if another foccer can make ues of them , both have lugs missing but repairable , the gold one has the broken lug taped to the inside of the fairing , scrape mark on the gold one and cracks around the indicators on the red one , one has been repaired....

anyone make use of them ?

For Sale & Wanted / motorcycle build table.....free
« on: 01 July 2018, 08:06:09 am »
Having a garage clear out and found this , a home made motorcycle build table on wheels , sturdy metal frame with heavy duty wheels , a MFC top with four tie down points and a flush fitting metal plate for the centre stand , easily takes my honda cb 400/4 which has been standing on it for a number of years.
used to restore the 400/4 , easily pushed when fully loaded , was able to push into the corner of the garage whan not working on the bike so I could get the car in the garage .
comes apart for easy transportation .

General / motorcycle storage , limited space
« on: 17 June 2018, 11:27:10 am »
Like a lot of people I have too many toys and not enough room , even the small jobs like adjusting the chain or servicing the exup becomes a pain working in the garage sandwiched between my classic car and the garage wall, banging head and elbows on everything that gets in the way , a single garage with 3 bikes , a car ,2 kayaks , tools and various household items that shouldn't be in there anyway   :rolleyes  Is never going to work......

time to sort things out , I have a brick built shed with concrete floor roughly 7ft square , easily takes 2 bikes but very little else , the two bikes I have in there are projects that I do a bit on every now and then so I camd up with a crazy idea of a stacking system , using scaffold tube , box section steel tube , 2 winches and some decking boards , it took me a while and it is a bit tight length wise but it works    :)       Couple of small jobs to finish off but its in use , just need to tidy the garage now

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / a different kind of EXUP problem
« on: 12 June 2018, 10:22:15 am »
The mighty thou has had a bit of a lumpy tickover recently , iam planning to ride down to poole bike night this evening so with that in mind I got up early with the intention of balancing the carbs , started the bike up to get it up to temperature and I get the 7000 rpm code , exup , not serviced for I while so I strip it down to find the cable holding /guide bracket has rusted through   :eek

managed to weld It up  although not the best job it has made the bike useable , anyone else had this problem or is it my lazy maintenance     :o

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / the david silver honda collection
« on: 18 October 2017, 09:24:15 am »
Day off yesterday so had a day out on the mighty thou and visited david silver in Leiston , Suffolk .

for all you non honda fans David Silver is the man to go to for classic honda parts from the early 60's  to the 90's

he has built up a collection of 150 classic honda's dating from a 1951 dream 'E' type to a 1990 's oval piston NR750 one of approx 30 in the country , suggested that this is the largest private honda collection outside japan.

well worth a visit but it is a little out of the way , approx 20 miles north of felixstowe on the east coast a couple of miles from sizewell....

General / cooling system flush
« on: 23 July 2017, 01:11:17 pm »
Been doing a bit of service work on the mighty thou , all the usual things and a flush of the cooling system , its looking a bit murky brownish in the header tank so pulled the bottom hose off and connected the garden hose and gave it a good flush for 10 mins or so , refilled with some fresh antifreeze and started and let run for a while whilst checking for leaks , no leaks but the fresh
antifreeze is brown again  :o ....so i guess i need something more than just clean water although the fresh antifreeze is doing a good job of loosening the gunge  :rolleyes .......thinking of  using "mannol 9965"  "bars flush" or something simular....you lot used any of these ?

« on: 10 December 2016, 07:13:35 pm »
Evening foccers, I need your help ...red98 junior is a big gaming fan and with christmas just around the corner mrs red98 has decided a new TV would be an excellent christmas present....so off to currys we go.....first problem is size, will be going in juniors room which is approx  9 X 11 , iam thinking 26 / 27 mrs red is eying up the 32 in  :rolleyes  and possibly bigger..time to ask the assistant.....helpful guy who says its more about quality than size , hes on my side ive been telling mrs red that for years  :lol ...he shows us a 27in but more importantly its a FULL HD 1080P....which is good for gaming as its about the picture quality....mrs not to happy with 27in and looking at the 32 in they either say HD READY 1080P  or just 1080P  but not FULL 1080

junior currently has a 19in screen but misses out on detail as not 1080...bit confused about it all now and we came home empty handed not wanting to get the wrong one.....your thoughts please gentlemen    :)
