If the model for the FZ8 instructions are similar to a Gen 1, then other than +ve and -ve, you'll need to identify the crank position sensor lead, and also the speed signal wires coming from the ecu. Using a multimeter and a needle to pierce the insulation, is how I identified the correct leads. If you go for the HealTech GiPro make sure you order the model specific to your bike.

There's not much I'd rather not be seen on than a C90,maybe a Raleigh Runabout. :lol
I think a BSA Winged Wheel beats a Raleigh Runabout all day long :lol .

After years of using an old battery trickle charger and every now and then catching the clips and ripping them off I treated myself to an Oxford Optimiser 888 which comes with a lead and waterproof cap that you connect to the battery and then cable tie to the frame and just plug it in when you need to charge the battery, should have done it yonks ago.

Yep, and it also gives you a useful power outlet. I've got a tyre pump with the same connector.

Fazer's back together, finally. Whilst the cam cover was off for the valve clearance check, I had that and the generator cover powder coated. However I forgot to remove the cam chain rubbing block thingy, from inside the cam cover, which melted off in the oven. Been waiting a few weeks for my local Yam dealer to get one in. That was a 22 quid mistake. Up and running this afternoon, so next job is wheels off, and providing the disc bolts come out ok, they'll be off to be  powder coated next week.

I fitted a HealTech to my Gen1. The instructions were quite straight forward, but could be different for your FZ8 though.

A HealTech SpeedoHealer would sort out the problem, but not cheap at around £85.

On the news it was mentioned a crowdfunding had been started. If the driver had insurance I'd have thought that would be claimed against, to pay for its rebuilding.

Ignore the bi-annual info I posted on 10/12/19. I must have deleted the email that I received, giving me that info, and can't find any reference to it on the web.

:lol . Might be a tad cool for the bucket and spade. I'll save that for the Margate Meltdown. I know roughly what to expect as went to the Weston Super Mare event, many moons ago. If it stays dry, will be a great day out. Get the thou finished and come down. :thumbup

Nice job Mr.Red. What mileage is on your thou?. Just wondered if this fault is mileage related, or just bad luck. I can see how the Sky Lift would have made life a lot easier for you, that's for sure.

Nice job Mr.Red. :thumbup  The domed nuts is certainly a good idea. Just taken mine off for a re- copperslip, and all came off sweet as a nut. I didn't cut the studs down, just used stainless nuts with domed nuts to cover the exposed section of thread. Has the same effect though.
