I have bought these as I sent my bike down the street on its side. I was quite happy with my old ones until they where pointing the wrong direction

Ok Steve

Aslong as that's the normal thing to do I am happy with that. I presume the tape is just something for the bits to grip onto therefore can be any tape ?

Evening all

Possibly another daft question if you know what your talking about but I don't so here goes.....

Just ordered and received some Renthals
And they have turned up but don't have the lug holes for my bits and bobs to sit in ?

Is this normal ?

Also I don't think I can install bar ends on these bars ?
Thanks

Yeah under the seat it says 5DM4 070 so it's the 1999 red on an 1998 bike !
Can't imagine I shall be that lucky to get the right colour so will now look at spray painters in my area

Evening all

Had my first spill over the bank hols. Broken finger was all I got fortunately.
However the pride and joy is not looking great. Exhaust snapped off and my front fairing is slightly U/S.
Anyone got a front fairing kicking about or know of any breakers with them ?
Also did they do the 1998 Fazer in 2 reds. I don't know if it's just be but my bike looks a darker red than some I have seen??

Thanks in advance for any help

FZS600 Fazer / Downpipes advice
« on: 01 May 2014, 08:49:26 pm »
Evening all

So as a bank holiday project i have removed the downpipes off my Fazer as they were looking a bit shabby. I am taking them to work tomorrow and hoping to get the hole welded which is quite big right near the top where they connect to the engine block. (not even sure if it can be welded so fingers crossed). :(

Once they are welded i obviously need to paint them, anyone any ideas whats best to do regards painting?? Don't want it to be flaking off after 3 months but also don't want to spend 100's on getting them professionally finished. Any good recommendations on paint ??

Or do people just recommend on stop wasting my time and replace them ??

Thanks

So I have this problem also, had my front tyre changed today and now speedo is not working at all. Do. Need to be looking for just the tab washer (drive dog) or is it a complete unit inc the cable and everything?

New to bikes so any help is appreciated !

Evening guys,

Today I had my tyres replaced on my 1998 Fazer. Unfortunately the speed sensor washer tabs snapped whilst swapping the front tyre. Does anyone know where I could get one ? And also do I have to by the complete unit including the cable or can I just replace the tab washer ?

Hopefully I have explained this a ok. Still in the learning stages of bikes !

Well after an afternoon/evening in the garage i am finally sorted. I found the correct place for the idle adjuster thanks to Red98 for the pictures.
Wasn't the easiest to get back in but a bit of persistence paid off. Running like a dream again at 1100 RPM.

Thanks to everyone who posted and helped me out took all your points on board for the future.

Just wait for some nice weather now.  :D

Thanks again
