I find the screen view is much better using "2D rotate in direction of travel" and the zoom option set to "Based on road type"

You can load your POI Categories from the old device to the new one
You can't show a POI category on the driving map, but you can show categorized POI's on the Map during a search
e.g... To show the POI's for example "National Trust" on the map, work your way down to option (2)

From the main screen
Tap (....)4Dot Icon (Screen Bottom left)
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to and tap the MyPlaces Icon
Scroll down and select the required POI Category For example "National Trust"
You now have three options
The Main search area turns blue and "National Trust" is offered with a flashing cursor
Continue typing the name of the required "National Trust" site, Type dud(maston) (Or as much of the word that's required for Dudmaston Hall appear at the top of the National trust list
Tap on Dudmaston Hall and select the Drive Icon

You also have two further options.....
After the initial "National Trust" POI selection
There's a dual Icon (screen bottom right) with Three Lines and Two circles
(1)..... Tap the three Lines Icon (bottom right screen) and a list will appear of the "National Trust" sites in distance order
(2)...... Tap the Two circle Icon for the "National Trust" sites POI's to appear on the screen (Pinch zoom for detail) as far as I'm aware it will show the nearest 60ish POI's around your location
there is also a Keyboard Icon (screen bottom right) to return to the search window from the options (1) and (2)

In my teens to many years ago, the crowd I used to hang around with, had this prat who thought it would be funny to slack off the adjustment to the brakes on this other lads bike.
We were all starting to leave and the lad rode his bike up the side of the café towards the main road, he went to stop and ploughed into the side of a taxi that was traveling along the main road, the lad broke his leg and wrote off his brand new 500 BSA Gold Star Clubman

the PRAT never owned up to doing it but we were all convinced it was this dickhead, he was questioned by the Police but never charged
He certainly got the "Message" he wasn't welcome anymore

Hi

I used the one for a Suzuki 2005 SV650SU and paid £82.74 even that's a rip-off
I found the TPS manufactures site, for very similar looking TPS's > Minimum order 50 units 8 Dollars per unit     

Edit... I've just found a Yamaha TPS at around £170 from Fowlers

Hi

Replace the TPS on my 2000 Fazer today
Out of curiosity I dismantled the old one and found one of the tiny electrical contact brushes had broken off  :eek

How on earth do they warrant the price for what's basically a volume control

Hi

My wife was getting cramp riding pillion.
So I made some Rear Footrest Hangers that moved the footrests forward 50mm and down 50mm
you can get the 30mm x 5mm steel strip 1M long from the larger B&Q's

Use the Fazer footrest hanger capscrews to hold the new brackets to the bike (heads are thinner see pic's) then std capscrews for the footrest hanger to bracket.
The 8mm bolt goes through the 10mm threaded captive nut on the exhaust can.

Note..... I have the year 2000 Fazer 600 with the thicker seat and the lower rear footrests so this gives even more of an improvement

Setting the scene.....
Back in my youth : I had recently moved up from a James Captain (Sports) to a BSA Rocket Goldstar Clubman
I cannot push a Bike from the right-hand side
In the back pocket of my jeans I had a comb made of Aluminium

I stopped a Petrol station, the forecourt had a steep slope away from the pumps
I stopped at the first pump, but it wasn't 4Star petrol, so I started pushing the bike on the right-hand side to the next pump
The bike started to go away from me, I was hanging on with both hands on the twist grip
It finally went, throwing me over the top like a wrestler in a WWW wrestling bout
When I landed I was in agony !!! some how the comb had twisted in my back pocket and it's teeth had been driven full depth into my backside
I was in agony tying to get the comb's teeth out of my buttock and to top it off everybody in the petrol station was pissing themselves with laughing

Looking at some old pictures of my BSA Rocket Goldstar and I noticed two different Registration  numbers, the correct one * * 2 and the other * * 7
How the hell I did not notice, I rode around for years with a * * 7 number on the plate  :eek

 I use a Tomtom Via 120 Live with the sucker pad stuck to the Rev Counter Glass.
 just in case the Via decides to jump ship, I have a short lanyard attached to the Fazer and the back of the Via
 For bad weather a good fitting plastic bag
 12v socket under the seat

I re-threaded the stripped M6 hole to 1/4 BSF no drilling straight in with a No1 1/4 BSF taper tap, the 1/4 BSF bolt fits through the hole in the tank as well.

After I passed my test I jumped  from the I962 197cc James Captain to a BSA 650 road rocket, I was late for work the first day with the rocket, I was just under 10 stone ringing wet and I couldn't kick it over to start it  :lol

Suspension front fork alignment

From Hot Poop  The following method of checking your fork alignment (i.e. "are they twisted?")
 
A simple way to check your fork alignment:-

Get two STRAIGHT lengths of tube or rod 12mm to 19mm dia. about a Metre long Then with the bike on the centre stand turn the ignition switch to "unlock" and remove the key and straighten the steering.
Place one tube horizontal and centralized on top the black fork protectors that are fitted to the fork sliders, making sure it is contacting both fork stanchions. Work the other tube between the control cables on the top yoke and then sit the tube on the top yoke in front of the fork legs and in contact with the ROUND part of both fork top caps (on later models you could sit the tube on the fork top nuts and back against the preload adjusters).
Then get on the bike standing on the foot rests and look down at the tubes they should be parallel if not the forks are twisted in the yokes or bent, the length of the tube exaggerates the error and make it easy to see.
What you do If the forks are only twisted and NOT bent
With the bike still on the centre stand place a scissor-jack and a piece of wood under the exhaust pipes and just support the weight of the bike. Slack of the four cap-screws (Allen screws) of the top and bottom yokes, the jack will stop the forks just sliding through the yokes. Determine which way the forks are twisted in the yokes, then stand in front of the bike and grip the front wheel with your knees and pull and push the handlebars, until the tubes are parallel to each other, then re-torque the four top & bottom yoke cap-head screws. Finally recheck the long tubes are still parallel to each other, Job done.

I962 197cc James Captain, round the block clock and anti-clockwise, 100 yds. at walking pace feet on the rests & an emergency stop. Passed OK

Thanks for the reply's I tried the thermostat bolt "No joy" so I held the cover open with a small block of wood under each corner and checked the clearances like a gynaecologist  :)  All the clearances were in-spec  :D
