Title: tail tidy
Post by: KENT62 on 12 March 2017, 01:17:49 pm
Has anyone fitted an R&G tail tidy, that you can use the original indicators with?  Are they simple to fit?

Fitting is straightforward unless you have a givi top box rack (Like Me!) Then you have to bend the attaching plate a bit so indicators don't clash with rack.

Tricky, thanks for that.  I have a Yamaha rack so I'll see how it goes.

If anyone decides to get one it would be worth a message on fitting.  Took me 3 hours but I'm not the best mechanic in the world!  I had to take off a lot more bits than expected.

First thing I did was put the rear end back to standard. Don't like the look of the tail tidy.

Picked up a brand new one on the Bay for 20 quid.
Might want to get a couple of huggers in too when you see them cheap. I've had one break every year but I do cover a lot of miles,  around 500/week.

I removed the R and G tail tidy last night .The longest part is the wiring .I took of the four bolts holding the tail tidy from under rear seat ,the rear seat surround bodywork (clips and bolts) ,both grab handles (2 bolts each),
the rear under tray(8 trim clips ) .I also removed the steel bridge at the front of the rear seat from the sub frame (4 small Bolts ) to make access to ther light and indicator bullet conecters easier.
Then disconected the indicators, number plate light and tail light .
