I have a very good condition original FZS600 endcan and pipe from a 2001 model Fazer 600 if anyone needs one

This is FREE but I won't post or bugger around with carriers being sent to collect it, it is collection only from the East Devon area

Drop me a line if you need it and are able to collect - first come first served

Thanks

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted - Fazer 600 (again!) - Now sorted.
« on: 08 August 2013, 07:45:38 pm »
Okay, so recently sold my lovely mint Boxeye to pay a vets bill, in the short term I dabbled with a cheap super moto thingy which whilst great fun on the back roads wasn't really up to any long trips...so that's now sold and I am looking for my next bike, preferably a Fazer. I am a bit fussy as it will only be a sunny sunday toy, so am looking for:

600
Late Boxeye or early foxeye
Low miles, under 20k
No rust / corrosion
No broken plastics
MOT
Some recent service history would be nice
Excellent condition
HPI clear

I am based in Devon but can travel within the South West within reason, I am actively looking so may not be bikeless for long so if you do have or know of anything suitable message me ASAP, I will check in regularly and update this post if sorted.

Budget is up to @£1700 (no higher)

Thanks in advance

General / No longer a Fazer'er
« on: 11 July 2013, 03:50:45 pm »
A large vets bill has led to the reluctant sale of my mint FZS600, got near to the full asking price and with the cash left over after paying the bill have ended up with an MZ Mastiff 660 supermoto thingy!

Fugly to look at but I quite like it, and should be great for the back roads of Devon.

Have had 3 x Fazers so far and in a perfect world would have one plus the Mastiff, who knows...maybe later

Anyhows just wanted to say thanks to all the people on this forum, whenever I have had a question it rec'd lots of helpful replies and hopefully I have also helped others a bit when able.

Pretty sure I'll be back again sometime in the future when finances allow

Now off to scare some of the yokels!

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted - Fazer 600, South West area
« on: 19 January 2013, 11:05:37 pm »
Hi all

Just sold my last bike on a whim (not a Fazer but have had two before and have been registered on here for a number of years)

So now have some cash burning a hole in my pocket, budget up to and around £1500

Sorry but am going to be a bit fussy this time as I only ride on sunny Sundays so have plenty of time to look around, so below is what I am looking for:

Mk2 foxeye would be nice but a very good mk 1 will do me just as well, later year the better
Under 20k miles
Some recent service history would be nice as well as some fitted extras
No rust or corrosion, I am looking for a very good condition bike
HPI clear

(Sacrilege I know but would also consider hornet/tdm/bandit etc if condition and price was right)

I live in Devon but can travel during the week around A303 / M5 / M4 areas

PM me thru the site if you have anything suitable, I will check in regularly and update this post when I find a bike

Thanks

FZS600 Fazer / Sprocket change for an old foccer
« on: 23 June 2012, 12:44:41 pm »
Hi - Time to change the chain and sprockets on my '98 FZS600 - Now before I get flamed too much  :)  when the bike was new I would have happily lowered the gearing for a bit more hooning but to be honest I am now in my mid 40's, planning on doing some euro tours later this year and find the current standard gearing a little too low for my riding style.

So I would appreciate any advice from people who have highered the gearing a little, what sprocket combo worked best? Did it dramatically affect the bikes riding characteristics etc

Any advice and feedback gratefully received

(BTW - Have already arranged to have the modified nut / washer fitted just in cases)

FZS600 Fazer / Occasional Starting Problems - Any advice welcomed
« on: 31 May 2012, 07:56:27 pm »
Hi - On my '98 FZS600 I have an intermittent starting issue, sometimes it will start straight away on the button (hot or cold) and other times there is just a clicking noise, If I move (rock) the bike forwards or back whilst in gear it will then usually start on the starter again (not always, sometimes takes a few "rocks"), it can always be jump started if I happen to be on a hill

It has just had a brand new battery fitted so does anyone have an idea of what else may be causing this?

It's going into my local garage for service next week and they will look at it and are happy for me to supply parts (eBay) and they will fit for me, just wondered what I should be looking for or if anyone else has experienced the same? - starter motor, relays etc etc

Any help appreciated

Introduction / Another returner
« on: 27 May 2012, 09:45:09 pm »
It seems that as per a lot of posts, I am another back in the Fazer fold, three years ago had a lovely FZS600SP 2000 in Gold / Black, then son number 1 turned 17 and the need for funding driving lessons, cheap car (wrote off in 4 x days), even cheaper 2nd car and insurance for him meant a reluctant sale of the Fazer, I was gutted to sell it, especially as virtually mint and was bought by a m/c courier in London! at least he paid the full asking.

Anyhows, Son no.1 slowly (very) becoming more financially independent so on a small budget picked another FZS600 this weekend, not quite as good as my last but a 98 plate in black (the fastest colour obviously) 16k miles, full service history and a very sweet engine, took out for 150mile bimble with a mate on a similar aged Thundercat today and  the bike rode faultlessly so can't complain.

Need to "jazz" it up a little and got a few small areas of rust - mainly top of forks that I will need to deal with, I would also be very interested to hear from anyone with a S/S radiator cover and / or black bagster tank cover that they may have up for grabs (for the FZS600 '98), could paypal or cash/collect if localish

Based in East Devon, not the most prolific of posters but always used the old site to good effect and will no doubt do the same on this site, so hello all and thanks in advance for any help I may ask for and receive  :)
